I have respect for your posts and look forward to Alabama on Saturday. Not from there nor did I attend the school, but I love Saban's approach. It's almost inhuman coupled with the results.
Since he's been there practically all of their few losses are due to a few components. Freak plays, mobile QBs who played incredibly, or lack of concentration in a bowl game due to self inflicted mistakes. You can't ignore the results. Nobody does it better and plays fundamentally sound football

Jimmy it's easy to play from the armchair or critique those audacious enough to post selections themselves. There are different groups of people who gamble be it table games or sports. I will not list all the categories I have for each type but those who like to rip in forums after someone loses is the weakest kind of bettor. They usually didn't play many sports if any, but feel like they will never lose. Or if they lose it was someone else's fault or the game was fixed. So they vent after losses or bad streaks. Hell Northwestern scored one touchdown and it came on a fourth down conversion against Illinois State. Then allowed a last minute drive and field goal to lose straight up lol. Maybe those Northwestern kids really want to be paid like Div 1 players deserve of they are engaging in point shaving to earn a salary? Doesn't matter no one coerced me to picking them but I did and losses happen. As you mentioned if you can't take losing then maybe you aren't cut out for gambling or life period. Don't berate veterans members in this forum because you feel the world is against you after losing. It's part of the activity. If you don't like it quit.

Vanzack accurately points out the demographic in this country has drastically changed in the past 20 years. I'd point out non-Caucasian numbers have dwindled post-World War II. Despite all the country's faults there are very few lands where you can be a part of a large money grab and establish an independent life for yourself relatively speaking.
All this conversation about pivotal states based on electoral votes is nonsense to me in 2016. I believe a social revolution has made any state up for grabs and it's benefitting Democrats. All Trump can do is remain focused, discuss policies which are not detrimental to the homeland, and embarrass her in debates. Trump knows how to be a character and revels being in front of cameras. We know Hillary Clinton is not a good actress and doesn't captivate audiences too often.
The 1970s and early 1980s are relics of the past. Look at the election maps from those years. I'm Caucasian and in my third decade on Earth and I barely recognize California (where I was born and reared) so I can only imagine looking at it through my folks perspective. Caucasians from Europe are the current Native Americans here. They grabbed it from the indigenous peoples and now are being outnumbered with new eras of migration from other parts of the globe. Don't get it confused, I'm not a racist and I have read other posts and threads in here where people label Trump as a bigoted, cranky white guy tired of what liberal and progressives have done to America. Trump's own lineage isn't traced back to the Puritans and Quakers in Massachusetts. I wonder if Obummer knows how isolationist Massachusetts Bay Colony originally was for all its BS aesthetics as he keeps tearing up greens with his irons at overpriced golf courses on "vacation." Trump's grandparents arrived from Germany. He's another European Caucasian who possesses nationalist values and wants to reverse the nation's course. So he's like me and other Caucasians who don't trace back to the 16th century. Too many defined this as Trump being part of a Caucasian population who have dominated this country for too long. So because Trump is a jingoist automatically qualifies him as white supremacist? What is Black Lives and the AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee)? They wouldn't happen to be motivated by anything racial correct? This election is akin to 1964 when Lyndon Johnson demolished Barry Goldwater. There is a clear dichotomy between each candidate, but the demographics of America side with the Democratic Party. That's what free speech gets you. However, Clinton's transgressions should not make this a route. Trump has a fighter's chance and that is who he is. Let him win or lose in that fashion. Hillary is brilliant, ipso facto, plays to her strengths. If she wins, voters will owe a debt of gratitude to Obama, Clinton, and silent power groups for ruining a country's identity. Trump gets my vote but he faces long odds. If he emphasizes stances which benefit America, then bests her on television, he might become a live underdog. Either way I love the attempt he made. Somebody had to do it and he did it with popular votes. Battled against his own party and eschewed lobbyist, PACs, and special interest crap. That's why he attained nomination. I fancy a Trumpy win so all the psychotic Hollywood millionaires and billionaires leave the country. Streisand, O'Donnell, Sarandon, De Niro, Clooney, and Streep to name a few. Let them fly coach one way to Antarctica. |

They are willing to hand it over to Clinton and Democrats. That makes them feeble and pompous for adhering to fabled politics over what the Democrat party will do to America. Pejorative sellouts.

His maternal grandparents? I'm sure their own family lineage back in Kansas did not share their ideas. Reasonable conclusion since they ended up in Hawaii.
They are no different from whites like Hillary Clinton, Meryl Streep, Susan Sarandon, and every media chick with legs on CNN. Just not rich or public figures. Trump has plenty of flaws but he wants to protect a country not some New World Order intent. Obama is bought and paid for by the hidden elite societies doing their best to undermine this land. Slowly and gradually it has occurred. Yay it took you long enough person Caucasians have been minorities for decades!

Boehner doesn't spray tan. I take it your black from your member photo. I don't think Obama has ever known what he is from the day he gulped his first breath. Worst president/dictator/emperor/autocrat/emir in modern and United States history. Trump 4 life |

Ease off the guy was a quality contributor to Covers forum. I've enjoyed his commentary and observations for several years.
However, in this particular matchup I knew he wouldn't be able to neglect partisanship. Not sure if he attended Clemson or had family members who graduated. Some people develop local ties with college programs for sentimental rooting interests. I'm not even discussing the -6.5 or the late touchdown. He picked them straight. The guy invests way more time studying college football than I would so I respect him. Both teams deserved to be in this game. In my opinion there was no "upset victory" to be had in this matchup. Books favored Alabama naturally. I wouldn't have been stunned if Clemson won. I didn't envision it occurring. Alabama made winning plays and their coaching staff received the edge too. Even in Alabama's notable losses under Tsar Nick, most were products of sandlot football quarterbacks (excluding Cam Newton because he's a rare combination), uptempo spread crap, fluke plays, or untimely mistakes that subsequently produced collapses. Last year against phony Urban Meyer is a prime example. Alabama has lost and will lose anon. The underlying theme is many of those past losses could or should have easily been wins. The irrevocable fact is Emperor Saban embodies consistency. His level of consistency is a rare achievement in modern times even amongst major programs. He and Alabama were a perfect match. It's been one successful campaign from the day he joined the university. If he could operate with such tyrannical control at the NFL level in the modern era, he would have been successful there as well. Not feasible so he knows where his talents flourish best. Reprimanding Boom isn't necessary. He's been on the right side plenty of times. Alabama got it done and proved their worth. Acknowledge it and move on to next season. Competitive sports is an industry like anything else in modern society. One season concludes while another beckons. |
