My local is very solid. I have a 10k line of credit with him, and we settle on the dime. If i'm up or down $999 at close of business sunday, it carries over. My guy has a great website, fairly good limits and very deep pockets. I'm likeing him more and more now that offshore is getting more difficult by the day. |

any truth to the story at other forums that covers had an incredible 70 percent affiliate deal with Beted, and covers wanting to keep thier sheets paying by that affiliate deal is the main roadblock in a bailout being agreed upon by potential books? |

covers has always offered the best handicapping info and stats. I found this site shortly after getting internet at home in the mid 90's. The forum and the book review part of covers is no where close to the best, but its not nearly the worst either. The RX and EOG have shilled for just as many lower echelon books, probably more. SBR had Cascade "A-rated." So it happens. |

covers may actually have to endorse a legitimate book or two, as their recommended list of shady outfits are disappearing rapidly.

great bonuses, but there are definately some warning signs lately. extreme slow pay and increased cold call marketing. i'd stay away. |

bet jamaica, the greek and bookmaker don't need to be metioned in the same sentence with BETED. Totally different animals. Honest, well run books find a way to continue doing business and pay winners, (BETED)less honest books take this as an excuse to take the money and run. |

my understanding is that covers owns at least half of beted. can anyone confirm this? This would certainly explain why Covers has worked so hard to paint BETED as a victim of circumstance in this fiasco. |

really??? not to mention when you don't have time to tout yourselves, youre far too busy touting c and d rated books for your advertising $$ and lucrative affiliate deals. |

Im very sorry anyone lost any money, but if you look at the covers sportsbook ratings, they have always been a huge joke. And if you played at any decent books you would sureley realize beted was piss poor book. I'm not trying not take all blame away from covers, but really if you see all the jazette books rated in the top 10, it doesn't take a genius to realize that advertising dollars determine the top 10. I would be curious to know if Beted stiffed covers on advertising dollars? |

i would agree on heritage, but i still don't understand what betjamaica offers that make it an elite book. strongly disagree on grouping justbet and you wager. Only thing they have in common is fast payouts. You wager has a much higher tolerance for winners and much higher limits. You wager is an excellent baseball book and has the fastest payout i have encountered. i think different books are good for different sports...ie your a chump if you playing bases at the greek and bookmaker, but they are great for football and baskets, and early lines. overall, i would rate heritage and youwager as my two all around favorites...but different books for different folks, both have treated me very well. |

some of you guys will never learn how stupid it is to discuss funding and payout options on an open forum.

heritage is top 10 book with payouts, however i agree with Lippsman, there are several outs that offer better lines, lower juice and more options.

Great point Lou! and long overdue, i suggested the same over a year ago and was shouted down by the high school kids that post here. Hopefully folks will listen to you so that we can have a processor work longer than 30 days at a time.

heritage is a good book, but they only want long term losers or squares, this makes Covers very attractive to them.

from what i have read and heard, the downgrade was caused because, matchbook was extending some huge, "high risk" credit lines in order to provide liquidity. SBR john said they even extended Lenny of Cascade fame $100,000 line of credit. i also read that they were slow paying some of these larger credit players that won. Don't know just rumors and i still haven't heard of any slow pay from post up customers. |

Having 13000+ posts in less than 3 years doesn't prove one is any more credible than somone with 13 posts. In fact, just the opposite, I figure the guy with 13 posts has a life, a family, maybe even a job. Many of us have used covers as a sports information site 12+ years, but don't really feel the need to engage in verbal battles with a crowd that is predominately first year gamblers that have everything figured out. Finally to answer your question, I'd say "cappingstrong" is a guy who likes betphoenix. But he may have signed up a year before Betphoenix opened, so that he could defend them 3 years later at a forum.........but i seriously doubt it. |

i use both to shop lines, but i much prefer when my local has an equal or better line. Not sure how everyone settles up. With my guy the week runs from monday thru sunday, i've a 1ok credit line and we settle up on the dimes. Sunday night, if i'm up $985 it carries to the next week, if i'm down $999 it carries to the next week. Extremely convenient, he comes by my office and I pay him if its over 1k and he pays me if i'm up over 1k. one advantage of the offshore post up is bonus money, but other than that, a local with a good website is much preferred. |
