Did the 33% DK NRFI - YRFI. Went N-N-Y-Y game times respectively. First 3 are in. It’s $100 bet to payout $1432. Thinking about doing a partial hedge but the NO…but -140 kinda diminishes the risk/reward. Got the YES at +105. Just curious as to some of your thoughts. Hard to go yard in SD and 8 mph winds blowing in won’t help. Got a couple hours…any thoughts would be appreciated |

@TommyC22 As Scott Van Pelt often laments…”overtime is not the friend of the underdog”. True indeed. That said, I’m ok with spreads in all sports carrying over into OT. In basketball for instance, if you’re tied at 35 minutes or 40 minutes the OT 5 shouldn’t be disputed. I am however very much in favor of TOTALS applying to regulation only. Not only did Oregon backers take a bad beat tonight…but under bettors got hosed too…even worse. Took 2 OT’s to screw those poor bastards. many times I’d love to play unders in these tournaments…but if you don’t get screwed by overtime you’re left to to sweat out the meaningless foul fest that comes with these end of season situations. Under bettors are the ones who really took it in the rear tonight |

@RayRayK The blown layup in 2nd qtr ended up blowing a 5 pick $100 SGP for me…still stings. Bought the “must win Big Game James” hype. To be safe I used an adjusted over line of 22.5. When he went acrobatic on the gimme breakaway and fumbled the ball, my spidy sense told me I was screwed..even with 2.5 quarters remaining. Mix in the 0-6 three point bricks and he landed on 22. All the other 4 picks were settled with 7 minutes left as I agonizingly had to hope he would he would clear 7 more points. Just needed to vent…know the layup you referred to was not lost on everyone…at least not me |

I’m in Scottsdale…winds gusting. Just checked forecast for SoCal…Dodgers and Padres ballparks show winds blowing in from center 20-25 mph for what’s it worth. Im blindly betting under on both games just because. Oakland 15-20 mph blowing out. Gonna sprinkle some over there as well
Good luck to all |

@xMORTICIANx Nope…1+ TD scored odds boost from -20000 to +100. They send out notifications. In essence it’s like giving 100% deposit bonus (in my case anyway as I made the $50 deposit)…under the assumption that 1 friggin TD is basically guaranteed. Hard to capture the open ticket…but it’s true. They’ve done it before and will again. It’s always been a “free” $50 |

Don’t play these very often…but these are pretty damn strong facts: 1 - LAD pitcher Anderson hasn’t given up a run past 3 starts across 20 innings…had 1 melt down 7 earned runs 5 weeks or so ago. Other than that hasn’t given up more than 2 in ANY START 2 - ChiSox pitcher Cease has a few rough starts but sports a very respectable 3.3Ish ERA. He seems to have issues with walks…30 in 58 innings…but his 80 strike outs should help the cause if he’s a bit wild early 3 - NOT A SINGLE DODGER CURRENTLY IN THE STARTING LINE UP HAS FACED CEASE!!!! 4 - Early game on getaway day to end a low scoring series
I’ve only tried this NRFI quick thrill thing one time…didn’t start or end well At -115 this seems like a sucker bet. Honestly, I’m probably gonna do it…I’m just looking for input from the forum to let me know if I’m missing something
Thx all and best of luck

@dustmiester Amen my brother. I’m guessing you struck a nerve with pretty much all who read this. I come from a family of addicts. Be it nature or nurture I’m screwed either way. Substance abuse, drugs or alcohol, is big business and widely accepted. Everyone knows someone suffering from the “DISEASE”…which is where they have a huge advantage over us degenerate gamblers. Once substance abuse was classified as a disease, the victims got a free pass. I’m 61..been gambling for 42 years just as you have. Won my first 4 team parlay card at age 19 and my life as I would eventually come to know it was instantly ruined. Here’s how I see it in a nutshell…I wish I did alcoholism like my siblings…$10 a day bottle of cheap vodka and you’re all set. My credo is
IF AN ALCOHOLIC STOPS DRINKING HE GETS HIS SOBRIETY BACK…A GAMBLER STOPS GAMBLING HE WILL NEVER GET HIS MONEY BACK |

@circa Had trouble with bovada. Missed the tip. Wanted to pound Iowa 5 minutes in and it was locked. Hoping Michigan comes back for the win to ease my pain |

According to movie Hoosiers, 4 men on the courts…”that’s my team” tired legs lead missed shots…or uncontested layups? I haven’t figured it out yet, but I’m fascinated enough that I’ve been thinking about it for 4 ours..I’m gonna bet one way or the other. Stanford Steve made Oakland his best bet for today |

Knowing that they’re 24 point dogs and have no shot at winning, do they play loose on defense to stay out of trouble, in essence turning this into a pick up game…or…will they slow it down to a snails pace and live in the half court? Will Oakland coach take professional pity on them and purposely slow it down late…or…late 2nd half when foul trouble sets in just keep driving the lane for uncontested layups?
It’s an interesting scenario. There’s got to be an angle here…I just can’t seem to finger it
Any thoughts out there? |

@RayRayK A couple relatively recent deserved Academy Award winners…most winners are shit
MANCHESTER BY THE SEA - a slow starter but worth the initial 45 minute investment. The talented Affleck brother deserved the win…it’s can be a difficult watch WHIPLASH - my new favorite. As good as the entire movie is, the 10 minute finale takes it to a different level. One word description…PERFECT!
Of course ROCKY would have to be in any list…saw it at the theater back in 1976…or maybe 77. Everything about it from the conception thru the screening epitomizes the underdog

@stevenp But the past 4 days they’re 27-1…depending on when you bet Portland last night. They went off as a 1 point dog and got massacred |

@stevenp I’m just looking for moderate to heavy faves that are motivated against teams in disarray and doing the ML parlays. It just seems like lately there are 4-5 games every night that fit the bill. I’m kicking myself for not betting spreads…but the NBA is so damn capricious. I’ve just been chipping away with nightly profits during this streak. It shouldn’t be long before correction monster gobbles them up. I’ve just never seen a streak like this…28 consecutive faves winning, let alone 27 covering…and the only non cover being the best team in the league blowing a 21 point 4th qtr lead. If only it could always be this easy |

Am I correct here? I’ve been riding ML parlays last 3 days…typically paying out at +400ish. I didn’t have the balls to bet the spreads. The only spread I bet was the Suns 2 nights ago at -7…blew a 21 point 4th qtr lead and out scored 12-0 final 90 seconds Just thought it was interesting for those in here who may not have known….which I’m assuming are few and far between. At some point the dogs are gonna bark loudly |

Before You Laugh…PATS - BUCS Super Bowl…Similar Script PATS - RAMS 20 Years Later
in NFL Betting @bluecompass Completely agree BC. I’m just saying the scripts are eerily similar. Brady won games just like this on a team just like this that first year. I was living in Connecticut at the time and remember when he took over for Bledsoe…150 yard passing games with no mistakes was the norm. I remember laying 14 friggin points in that super bowl. There’s really no one stepping up to dominate the AFC and with Belichick in charge and home field, why not at this point… I’m just saying it would make an awesome story, one the NFL wouldn’t have to obviously manipulate given the current state of the league |

Before You Laugh…PATS - BUCS Super Bowl…Similar Script PATS - RAMS 20 Years Later
in NFL Betting So while Brady wasn’t technically wasn’t a rookie, he was the quintessential game manager with a calm demeanor and promising future EXACTLY 20 years ago. PATS MO then and now…excellent defense, run the ball, special teams, beat teams when not expected RAMS had “fastest show on turf”…BUCS have highest scoring offense with top notch runner and a stable of fast, big name receivers BELICHICK AND BRADY were both there…obviously
Last year was the Brady-Belichick breakup. Brady moves on and “naturally’’ becomes the QB of the first team to host and win a super bowl, sparking the great debate, was it Bill or Tom responsible for longest NFL dynasty ever
The ad revenue would be though the roof! Just my opinion and indeed desire |
