I think he hit the umpire with one last night haha. Maybe it's his strategy....make sure everyone pays attention when he's at the plate!

I know I've seen Josh Hamilton lose his bat at least 20 times this year...just wondering if there is any penalty when the batter loses his bat into the crowd? I know he's a great hitter, but eventually someone will get hurt from his lack of a grip.

Don't listen to some of these posters that have a "jerkoff mentality". They put themselves above everyone else by being "smarter" or try to belittle those that have opposing values. I think a lot of this thread has to do with a persons upbringing. I learned at an early age how to treat a person with respect. About how not to put yourself above others. And about how to believe in the good in a person and how to be supportive when the road gets rough. I'm no better than anyone posting on this website- I am just as good though.

Thanks for posting the link! I have a John Deere riding mower that has broken down 3 years in a row; The first time, the engine had to be rebuilt. Total with labor was close to $800 bucks. Last year, the transmission froze up and it had to be rebuilt as well. It's broke down again now-the butterfly in the carb broke and the pieces ended up trashing the piston-another rebuild and more big $ to repair it! We do use this mower a lot, but DAM!

Regarding the post that I wrote about self respect- you are making a decision that will allow you to sleep at night (would you feel good about the decision if you had her prosecuted?) If she has been a "friend" for 10 years, it would lay heavy on your conscience. Giving a long term friend another chance is a choice to be respected. What comes around goes around- somewhere down the line, someone will go out of their way for you in a big way-guaranteed. You have the chance to shine with a decision-perhaps it will get you a few steps closer to the big guy! |

Seems like you have a great plan that will certainly impact this woman's life. Respect does not come automatically with a position or a title-it is earned by making the right decisions at the right times. In this situation, you are earning the highest respect of all-self respect! |

Something I learned a long time ago is that everyone is replaceable-but there is also a cost for that replacement. To recruit, hire and train a new person to take over the position could be quite expensive-especially to get that new person up to the same level of experience. I'm not sure what type of business you have, but it may be a possibility that she goes to work for one of your competitors and takes some of your business with her. This is what happened to my parents business- they trained the person I guess a little too well- she left them, opened her own business and took half of their clients with her.

Since she has such a proven track record for sales and customer relations, use her skills to your advantage. Get her involved with some of your lower performing representatives a little bit- maybe she could benefit your company even more than she has in the past. She will make up for her mistake immediately and you can turn this into more of a positive situation. Employees that are around for an extended period of time don't concider it to be just a job-they feel like they are part of the "family". I worked for the same company for almost 20 years and was terminated unjustly. It absolutely has turned my life upside down-this was about 3 years ago. This job was her life and certainly she is devastated. In a large corporation, you would have no choice but to terminate, but being that it is a privately owned business, you are the one that makes the decision. I honestly feel that if you were to give her a chance to make this up to you, it will pay for itself 100 times over. |

Didn't mean to make it sound like you are obligated to her- because of course, you are not. If I imagine myself in her position though, I would have even more of a commitment to my employer for giving me a second chance.

If your other employees know about what happened, it might not be a good decision to bring her back. If it just between you and her, then I would probably offer her the job back with the understanding that she must pay the entire amount back. She has been loyal to you for 10 years- maybe you could show her some loyalty on your end as well? How did you discover the theft and are you sure that it hasn't been happening more than just this one time?

It's been a while since I laughed as hard as I did when I saw him! What are the odds of a bird hitting dead center on the snout!

Doing some training with my pointer Oscar this morning-he did a great job handling his bird, but it got its payback! I sent 3 of the photos in to the local news station on Friday around 5:00pm- they showed them on the 10:00 news. Pretty nasty pictures, but sure makes me wonder wtf it really is. I should have gotten more closeup pictures of the teeth and the claws on it-absolutely unreal.

There are a lot of coyotes here in Texas and I would like to think that this is one, but I honestly believe that it is something different. Coyotes don't have short curly tails like a wild pig, they have feet similar to a dog-not claws that are over an inch long, and if you saw that tooth close up, you can tell that it is not a typical canine tooth like a dog or coyote has. I'll check out the link that you provided and possibly do a follow up with them.

This thing isn't from outer space- I took these pictures and video this morning! Wierdest looking thing that I have ever seen. I started noticing these big holes that were being dug up a couple of months ago at my training lease. I thought that they from skunks, but now I think these coyote like animals are doing the digging instead. It was almost 3 feet long and I have no doubt that it could bring down a small calf, and I dread the thought of one of my bird dogs coming across one of these in the field!

After training dogs this morning, I saw this animal on the side of the road. There have been stories about the "Chupacabra" being seen in my area, and I believe that this is actually one of them. The video is quite repulsive and disgusting-but what is this thing! A short tail similar to a pig. Long claws on the front feet more than an inch long and the tooth that is showing is not a typical canine or coyote type. Watch if you can stomach it! |

I'm trying to understand where you are coming from-guess I'm just missing something. Weed has never cured a hangover for me or any type of serious illness, A physical illness-for example the flu,or cancer,or diabetes. Even if you smoke weed, you are not going to be cured, It might allow you to get your mind off of the symptoms for a while, but they are not being healed. If you have the flu, you are still going to have the symptoms and will still feel like shit. If your muscles hurt from excessive use, you can't just smoke a joint and they don't hurt anymore. If you need a hip replacement, you can't just burn a bowl and be as good as new. You're still going to feel the pain when you walk whether you are high or not. Maybe I'm wrong or maybe it affects people differently, but I'm just stating from my own experience. |

I smoked about an ounce a week for more than 15 years Not because it was addictive, but because I enjoyed it. I haven't done it for over a year now and although I do miss the feeling, it's not something that I "must have". I seem to be a little confused about what people are saying about it being used for pain relief. In all of those years, I would still have pain from sore joints or muscles, headaches or whatever. It was not like taking an aspirin and the pain goes away. Sure, it may have helped relieve some stress or tension, but it is definatly not a pain killer. I know some cancer sufferers use it to increase their appetite, which is understandable (the munchies haha). For pain relief though, Aleve will work 100 times better.
