It wasn't just the Riders decision, it was the CFL and both teams. I'm a non smoker, haven't hit 40 yet and I had troubles breathing outside today and I didn't do anything physically exerting. It's pretty hazy and thick. It is bad. Now Calgary will need to find a place to stay and likely not in Regina. Advantage Riders. |

TEASER: 6pts
SK +1
Riders just need to win and love them to do just that.
HAM +0.5
This is Ottawa's 6th straight game with no bye, 2nd week in a row on the road, and half the team is injured. Hamilton's offense has appeared to finally click. Hamilton just needs to win here. MY POWER RANKINGS: 1)Saskatchewan (1) 2)Calgary (4) 3)Winnipeg (2) 4)Montreal (3) 5)Hamilton (5) 6)BC (6) 7)Edmonton (9) 8)Toronto (7) 9)Ottawa (8) SK stays put coming off a bye and are the only undefeated team left in the CFL CAL jumps up 2 spots after a very impressive and dominating win against WPG WPG drops 1 spot after getting spanked by CAL MTL continues to slide, dropping 1 spot to 4 after a loss at home to BC, they really need Alexander back HAM stays at 5 after crushing TOR BC also stays in 6 for the 3rd week in a row after a 1 point win in MTL EDM jumps up 2 spots after a dominating and much needed win over OTT TOR drops down 1 spot to 8 after getting annihilated by HAM, they really need Kelly back OTT drops to the basement at 9 and now on a 2 game losing streak
Good luck! |

OTT @ HAM -4.5
It looks like Dru Brown will be needing 40+ pass attempts per game for any shot to win any games. The OL is a mess, the secondary is a disaster, the coaching is questionable. And again this week check out their injury report. Ottawa's only hope is Dru Brown turning into John Elway for this game. If Dru doesn't play completely lights out, Ottawa has no chance. Ottawa also hasn't had a bye yet this year.
Did the Ti-Cats turn a corner offensively? 86 points in the last 2 games. Bo Levi and Lawler are looking like a prime 1-2 combo. This should be a high scoring game. Hamilton's defense is not that good. Should be a hot day in Hamilton. Hamilton wins and covers.
34-23 Ti-Cats
BC @ EDM +3.5 Edmonton is coming off their 1st win of the season and looked really good in the game but Ottawa is a mess right now. Ford had almost a perfect game and Rankin added 105 yards on the ground. Edmonton's defense still needs a lot of work but has been slowly improving. Was Ottawa that bad or Edmonton looked that good last week? I will go with Ottawa being that bad and missing A LOT of players. Don't get too high on the Elks bandwagon yet. If I were the Elks I would just pound the rock all game and get Ford running around too. Fun fact: BC has won 9 out of the last 10 games against Edmonton with the only game BC losing was with their backup QB who was awful (Jake Dolegala). BC wins, Edmonton covers.
30-27 Lions

Last week was pretty exciting, lots of points scored including 4 kick return TDs! 2 in HAM TOR and 2 in OTT EDM and also 1 new millionaire. Looks like Calgary should have started the Stampede Bowl a long time ago. Montreal, Winnipeg and Toronto have byes this week. |

TEASER: 7pts
WPG +3.5 Bombers SHOULD win this game and we have a 3 pt cushion just incase HAM +8 Argos on a short week with a boatload of injuries and an 8 pt cushion? Sign me up! EDM +9 I like the Elks to win this game especially if Dru Brown is out and we have a 9 pt cushion
MY POWER RANKINGS: 1)Saskatchewan (2) 2)Winnipeg (3) 3)Montreal (1) 4)Calgary (4) 5)Hamilton (7) 6)BC (6) 7)Toronto (9) 8)Ottawa (5) 9)Edmonton (8) SK moves to #1 after showing another way they can win a game: without their QB1 WPG moves up one spot to #2 after another impressive win missing their RB1 MTL drops to #3 after getting crushed by the winless Ti-Cats, be it without their QB1 CAL stays put at #4 coming off a bye HAM jumps up two spots to #5 after a convincing win in Montreal BC doesn't move from #6 spot, they are better then they are playing and will end up better then HAM come end of year TOR moves up two spots from the grave to claim #7 after a huge win OTT drops three spots to #8 after losing a very winnable game EDM drops down one spot to #9 in the basement, only winless team in the league
Good luck! |

BC @ MTL BC has underwhelmed this year but I think they will start to come around especially when Rourke is healthy. I expect more out of BC. We still don't know who is playing QB for either team. I don't think Pierce is a good fit as a head coach, he's better off as an offensive coordinator but it is only week 5 so let's see. Betts is also questionable. Montreal's offense sputtered hard without Alexander last week. I do expect a bounceback performance from the Als after getting spanked by Hamilton. If Alexander plays and Rourke is out then Montreal wins and covers. If Rourke plays and Alexander is out then BC wins and covers. If both play then Montreal wins, BC covers. I will update my pick for this game closer to kickoff.
OTT @ EDM +2 Ottawa really needs Dru Brown back, he did take first team reps but still is questionable and how healthy will he really be if he plays? Ottawa has a dominant DL and weak secondary, something that should fall right into the Elks hands. With Ford running circles around the DL it will make Ottawa's rush non-existent and Ford should be able to pick apart the RedBlacks secondary extending plays and finding his WRs. Edmonton played the Bombers tight for 3 quarters last week and was actually tied with Winnipeg going into the 4th quarter. The Elks have improved every week. Desperation mode sets in for the Elks as they get their first win of the season. 27-20 Elks |

I should have just kept all my picks the same and I would have had a perfect week! Let the QB carousel continue.
WPG -3.5 @ CAL The Bombers are getting Oliviera back and are looking pretty healthy. Winnipeg has looked impressive in all 3 wins including 1 without Collaros and 2 without Oliveira. It's hard to pick against them against the Stamps, but I think this will be a closer game than most people think. Calgary is coming off a bye and usually plays well in this spot at home against Winnipeg and the Calgary Stampede is starting tomorrow with this game being the Stampede Bowl. Calgary has a potent offense but their defense will be their downfall in this game. Should be a fun game to watch and a high scoring one at that. VA still hasn't thrown a TD pass! 32-27 Bombers
HAM +1 @ TOR Did Hamilton and Toronto both blow their load last week? The Ti-Cats looked great against the Als but let's not forget who was playing QB for Montreal and how desperate Hamilton was for a win coming off their bye. Hamilton is going into this game pretty healthy. The Argos gave it their all last week after Dinwiddie tore into them after the Rider game. But just take a look at their injury report and see why I love Hamilton to win this game. 2 OL, 3 LBs (including McManis), both their RBs, QB, and 1 DL all announced OUT. And the Argos are also on a short week playing Sunday night. 29-19 Ti-Cats |

Maier starting for Riders, Rourke a GTD but likely out as he didn't take any reps in practise yesterday. Backing out of my teaser on the Riders, but sticking with the Riders to win and BC to cover from earlier in the week. Still like the Argos to win. Kelly is out until week 7 and Dru Brown was announced out. |

Changing my Hamilton pick to Montreal to win, Hamilton to cover. Locked it in at +3.5. I also may be removing the Riders from my teasers as it looks like Harris may not play. Will post an update tomorrow. |

TOR +2.5 @ OTT Ottawa had a surprisingly good game last week winning as underdogs on the road with a backup QB in terrible weather conditions. Letdown spot for them at home this week. Argos win and cover.

I know the write-ups have been short, just took possession of our home a week ago so I've been busy.
The Bombers look good but they've only played the Lions so far. This is a big spread but I'll eat it. It's tough to win in Winnipeg, and like I said Ford is so inconsistent. Over 4 quarters, Winnipeg is too much and wins and covers.
The TiCats are coming off a bye and their offense looked a lot more promising against the Riders before the bye. Hamilton gets their 1st win thanks to Alexander being out and MBT getting the nod. Desperation kicks in for the TiCats. Hamilton wins and covers.
The Riders look like the best team in the CFL next to Montreal. They can beat you on offense, defense, and last week we seen special teams. They have one of the top QBs in the league who is an amazing leader and a great field general. They have 3 RBs they can use. They have 4 great WRs. Their OL is playing great. Defense is playing lights out. They are winning in the trenches on both sides of the ball. They are very well head coached. The players love coach Mace, and can relate to him. Not only was he a player, but he is only 39 years old. Riders win but not cover. |
