That'll keep it relatively low or swing it the other direction if TP is going to be limited. No play for me yet, waiting for TP news, but anyone who says anything is a lock in this series (or really anytime...) is just making noise.

If the Mercury cover this, then the Storm must be the worst team in WNBA history. Haha, let's hope they're not for tonight at least .

Before you take that to the book, just something to consider. Phoenix was also missing Turasi, penny taylor and Candice Dupree for a lot of the year. Seattle may still cover, but the line isn't just because of the Griner addition and Seattle missing its stars. The Mercury retooled and reloaded, Seattle will probably wind up finishing 6th in the West. Also, not that it means a ton, but the WNBA GM's preseason vote had the Merc winning the title.
I don't have a play on the game, just wanted to help if possible. BOL!

STD 5-1
Sides: 3-1 Totals 2-0 last night 1-0 (LA never in doubt after the half) Monday picks: Tulsa -7.5 Couple players role players out for Tulsa (Jackson-Jones and Powell) but Diggins second game and Cambage increased comfort level should be enough to put down an unimpressive Mystic bunch. I expect Latta's motivation to beat her old team will be equaled by her old team's desire to get their first win in front of the home crowd. Chicago +8 CHI/PHO under 167.5 Lots of pieces coming back for Phoenix this year and Griner is now aboard. Everyone and their brother has already penciled them in to win the championship. And they may be right. But they're going to take some time getting all those pieces to function collectively and I don't think they'll blow this team out. Della Donne should have an immediate offensive impact for Chi town who keeps this close. As for the total I'm counting on Griner to have a big presence on defense and I think she slows the game down some. 168 is a high bar this early, especially for teams who only got a single tune up game in the preseason. This goes under. Bol to everyone!

I hesitate to post this since it looks like I'm the lone contrarian but I'm rolling Sparks -15.5 (I actually got it last night at -13.5, but since I'm posting this late, its only fair to adjust). Looking at the Seattle roster without Bird and Jackson I can't figure out where they're getting reliable scoring from. They might not crack 60...
As for the Sparks, they are loaded and hungry. They should put this team down quickly and then it's going to come down to garbage time covers. If it's sitting at around 15 with 2 minutes left I still trust LA to push it higher more than I do Seattle to find the points to cover. Pick: LA -15.5 No bet on the total BOL to everyone, at least someone's beating the books today

STD: 2-0 Spreads: 1-0 Totals: 1-0 (Note** Everything is one unit, still getting a handle on the WNBA) Spreads from Bookmaker Saturday plays: Con -7Tulsa +7.5 Tulsa/ATL over 155 NY begins the season as Laimbeer takes the reins with something to prove. Yes they have an old roster, but they'll start the season strong before falling off as the fatigue sets in. NY returns 4 of top 5 scorers and adds some depth, but Connecticut is on a mission. Strong roster stability and tons of people ready to step into the void Asjha Jones is leaving. They might not have enough in their reserves to take the East, but they have enough to take care of NY while Laimbeer puts things back together over the long term. Tulsa has put together an impressive assemblage of pieces. A team that has won 18 total games in the last three season COMBINED has amassed some high draft picks (that's what happens when you're terrible three straight years) including this years addition of Skylar Diggens to go with Cambage and Johnson. Ivory Latta left for Washington, but I don't think they'll miss her scoring with all the new additions. Young roster that I expect to improve over the course of the season, but I think they'll shock (sorry for reducing this to puns...) early on. The Dream also restocked and retooled, but their pieces aren't as impressive. Books are low on Tulsa right now given their poor performance in previous years, but they'll be a live dog most nights. As for the total, I think this is low and will rise from now til game time. Tulsa and the Dream will both be able to score and will look to push the pace. ATL can't protect the rim and I expect Tulsa to get easy buckets throughout the night. BOL to you all and go get em! |

On the same sides for the same reasons. Throw in that these two teams barely cracked 120 in the last preseason game (I know, preseason, but still...) and I think we're on it. The total is also dropping rapidly. I got it at 147.5 this afternoon and its down to 146 already and I expect it will keep dropping til tip off.
BOL tomorrow and throughout the year!

ESPN works fine, just have it on the scores page and set it to reload every 30 seconds. Let me know if you can't find it and I'll type in more detailed directions
