created a topic UNLAWFUL INTERNET GAMBLING ACT in Gaming Industry - US Can anyone possibly a lawyer explain to me what this means. I am getting 50 million different answers about whether what we are doing is legal or not. I am gambling with a reputable offshore book and I live in the east coast and just wondered what this law means. I have read in many places that me, the bettor cannot get in trouble because the onus is on the banks. If they want to deny our withdrawals and deposits they can but we are doing nothing wrong? Is this true. I am just concerned because I have won a decent amount of money and I am getting different answers from everyone. Anyone understand this law and what it measn to us? created a topic CHECK CASHING FOR GAMBLING WINNINGS in MLB Betting I know this is the wrong forum but I have a question for all long time gamblers who use overseas sportsbooks. I have won a decent amount of money with my book and need to know how to get it out safely. I dont want to bank wire this because I assume that online sports gambling is still illegal. Is the best way to do this to get a check and go to a check cashing place and pay the fees? I assume if I do that the banks aren't involved. Let me know if you guys have any opinions. created a topic Question regarding legality of gambling and winning? in Gaming Industry - US I have won a significant amount of money on a licensed online sportsbook. According to there site they said the WTO issued a ruling that the US making it illegal was illegal and now it is legal to place bets online and it is up to the banking industry to deny withdrawals and deposits. Anyone know if this is true? I am starting to take out money slowly not to alert anyone about what I am doing but i am still nervous that what I am doing is not legal. Anyone have any opinions or facts to make me feel better because it would suck to not be able to take out all this money i won because god knows I have given them enough of mine the last few years. I was actually considering based on your answers opening a bank account in the bahamas because it is easy for me to get to and it would be legal there? anyone think that is a good idea or is that a person nightmare?
