Well deserved honors for all 19 recipients of presidential medal of freedom.  Contrary to false conspiracy theories, Soros and Clinton help provided exemplary service to the US too.  Soros is a famous philanthropist who donates billions to many charities.  Forbes call Soros the most generous giver in percentage of net worth.  Clinton is the first woman in US history to represent a major party in a presidential election.  She fought to improve women's rights and healthcare coverage for millions of families.

Characteristics of fascism evident in Trump's demonization of immigrants after attacks by US citizens.  1 Identification of enemies or scapegoats as a unifying cause.  2 Obsession with national security, crime and punishment and fostering a sense of nation under attack.  3 White replacement theory used to show that democratic ideals of freedom and equality are a threat.  4 Disdain for human rights while seeking purity for those defined as part of nation.  5 Political power derived from questioning reality, endorsing myth or rage and promoting lies.

Trump can't make America great.  His first term was terrible.  Instead he dragged US backwards.  He created a rogue supreme court that undermined civil rights.  He added trillions to national debt mainly by tax cuts for the rich.  He failed in handling of covid pandemic.  He increased tariffs paid by Americans.  He put US in worst standing with the rest of the world.  He abandoned Iran nuclear deal the most significant international peace achievement in a decade. He pulled US out of Paris accord to fight climate change.  He was impeached for withholding weapons to support Ukraine which later emboldened Putin invasion.   He worsened political polarization and violence. 

Biden to award presidential citizen medals to 20 worthy individuals who performed exemplary service for the US.  The country is better because of their dedication and sacrifice.  Well deserved honors for Liz Cheney and Bennie Thompson of January 6 committee. 

Transparency international ranks Trump as the most corrupt president in US history.  Siena survey of historians rank the twice impeached and convicted felon the worst in integrity.  C-span survey of presidential experts rank Trump at the bottom for moral authority and pursuit of equal justice for all.  His abuses of power include subverting election, inciting an insurrection, politicizing justice department, obstructing investigations, abusing pardon power, firing whistleblowers and profiting off the presidency.  In contrast, Biden has no criminal record and no impeachment.  Unlike Trump, no one in his cabinet has been convicted of crimes.  Similar to Obama, Biden administration is one of the most ethical and least criminal in US history.

Myth is that US has an open border with no vetting or wall.  For decades, US has one of the most secured borders in the world with extensive barriers and thousands of patrol agents.  History shows walls don't stop immigration.  Most illegal immigrants enter US legally but overstay their visas. 

Decades of research confirm that white supremacy is the top terrorism threat in the US according to FBI and Homeland security department.  Domestic terrorism is a greater threat than foreign terrorism.  Americans are far more likely to be killed by Americans than by illegal immigrants.  But Trump promotes a false link between immigration and crime for political gain.  In Texas, illegal immigrant conviction rate is 45% lower than the conviction rate for US born citizens.  That is why immigration enforcement has no significant impact on crime rates.

On Bloomberg, republican Riggleman predicts a miserable battle for speaker Johnson to retain his leadership role despite Trump endorsement.  Previously, GOP House has struggled to elect speakers or even to pass legislations without help from democrats.  Apparently, electing more republicans to House is a recipe for more chaos and gridlock.  Problem is extremists who are more interested in disrupting government instead of governing.

So far, FBI has identified driver as Jabbar an US citizen from Texas and army veteran.  Possible link to terrorism because of ISIS flag found in truck.  Domestic terrorism is a far greater threat than foreign terrorism.  Also Americans are far more likely to killed by Americans than illegal immigrants.

In governments run by the super rich,  natural incentive to preserve their wealth by favoring spending cuts instead of tax increases to reduce budget deficits.  However nonpartisan Congress budget office top proposed solutions are on the tax side.  Eliminate all deductions for income tax and impose national sales tax.

New York times report General Russel Honore warning that Musk is a national security risk.  Musk has a history of appeasing China communist officials.  Most Tesla cars are sold and produced in China. 

US has already been paid back its investment.  Panama canal allows US to quickly and cheaply ship goods between Atlantic and Pacific oceans.  Commercial and military boost helps US to become a world power.

Federal appeals court upheld jury's verdict finding Trump sexually abused Carroll and denies his request for a new trial because of the strength of her case.  Wasting court time, Trump has a habit of seeking endless appeals despite unlikely chance of succeeding.

Lying to deceive voters is the most common way for politicians to rig elections.  No other politician lies as much as Trump.  He loves the uneducated because they are easier to manipulate.  As a demagogue, Trump appeals to the ignorance and prejudice of voters.  Fascist political playbook is the best way for a bad president to be re-elected.    Unfortunately, democracy depends on informed voters because misinformation is a problem in information age.

Jimmy Carter is a good man.  Statesman and humanitarian.  Champion of democracy and human rights.  He created FEMA, negotiated peace treaties, eradicated diseases, build homes, fought poverty, reformed government ethics, established departments of energy and education.  Although under appreciated as president, his lifetime accomplishments are greater than most presidents.  Survey of historians rank Carter as 22nd best president.  Lincoln first and Trump last.

Over 70 Nobel laureates signed a letter urging senate to reject Kennedy as health secretary.  He is a lawyer with no experience in medicine or science.  He is an anti-vaccine activist known for promoting misinformation that endangers public health.  Due to low vaccination rates, preventable diseases are increasing.  For example, whooping cough and measles.  He has threatened to fire hundreds of top talent from Food drug administration and National institute of health despite knowing nothing about their jobs.  So far, California has issued a public health emergency over bird flu.

After election, corporations lobby for government favors in fundraising events.  Apparent corruption in US politics.  For examples, bribery and influence peddling.

Congress directed defense department to use, transfer and donate leftover materials.  60% went to states and US customs border protection agency.  Instead of storage, defense department sold the rest to a government surplus company.  States can buy more materials but most leftovers for sale are junk.
