They have the ranking and fans believing they got a shot at the SEC title game, which they do.. I just feel that in this game, in this spot, they maybe overlooking Miss. State.. Ha...yeah, I trust our passing game alot. I trust that our receivers can run better routes than Miss St's D can cover. As for Cam? Hmm....he can put the ball on a rope, and its been a whiles since Auburn has had a QB that can make a 50yd "touch" pass. As for Cam's decision making? He has made good decisions so far, no close calls with nearly picked balls. His feet are too dangerous for him to throw stupid passes. If Im not mistaken I hear the same is not true for Miss St, in fact I think I remember reading that Miss St. had several passes that should have not only been intercepted, but could have been 6 points if Memphis had any talent on D. Shoulda, coulda, woulda, right? We will see, but I think turnover margin is another battle Cam Newton and Auburn wins if you look at QB and other positions individual player performance.

Look, I've posted different versions of this all around Covers, but hear it again board....Cam Newton is a Freak, and thats all you need, but its not all we have. We have RB, O-Line, and WR talent that is ridiculous. To me the only question mark here is Auburns D, which, correct me if im wrong, plays against a better version of Miss St's offense every time they practice or scrimmage. Miss St's D has an idea of what Auburn will bring, but they had an idea last year coming off a big win too. Auburn has Miss St's number, again, this year. AU hangs 50 on MSU.

Its called reverse line movement and yes its very fishy....causing alot of people to pull money off/ not make bets on Auburn...I think vegas wishes they had that opening line back..I think people would have felt more comfortable taking Auburn had the line floated upward to 4.5 or so points though, so vegas may have accomplished what they were trying to do with this reverse movement....the money is pulling away from Auburn a little bit now...JMO

Good Point..and all that can think is that Vegas may be trying to scare some money off of Auburn... if you look the amount of money now on each side...they somewhat succeeded, by about 5 %....but PLEASE BELIEVE that there is too much talent on this Auburn team to fall to a cow bell distraction in their SEC opener. Cam Newton=Freak. Auburn's D practices against a better version of Miss St's offense. Auburn's RB Corps is balls deep in Miss St's mother. Auburns WR Corps returns huge talent and adds some serious young talent. AU's O-Line is one of the best in the Country. Did I mention the RB Corps?...Michael Dyer, Onterio McCalebb, and Mario Fannin? Look up their stats...please. For WR stats and talent see examples Darvin Adams or Terrell Zachary. For New WR talent see example Trovon Reed. Oh yeah don't forget, Cam Newton is a freaky freak of nature.
Yes, Miss St can throw the ball, and Auburn had a bad first half of football in the secondary to open the season. But the rust is off the wheels boys, and while Miss St. might keep it close in the first half...Auburn's D will weather the storm and allow around mid 20's or so again while Auburns Offense rolls Miss St's "Cowbell Defense" like a high school team and hangs around half a hundred.

I think AU gives up more points than they want to, but I see alot of FG attempts for Miss St...and alot of TD's for Auburn...something that comes along with the running game edge. I also just don't think in the long run Miss St. will be able to FINISH against a more talented, and better conditioned team player to player.

No they wont....but Auburn should be able to hold MSU to around 100 on the ground IMO. I think the running games will be the difference in this game...Auburn rushes for 250+

Here's the problem....Auburn IS more dangerous through the air than Miss St....and they wont shut down Auburn's passing game. Auburn IS more dangerous on the ground than Miss St....and they wont shut down Auburn's running game. Heres why:
Auburn's O line averages 6' 5" 307, returns 4 starters...one of, if not the best O- Lines in the SEC, probably top ten(ish) in the nation. Plus you throw in Dyer, McCalebb, Fanni at RB/TB/HB spots and oh yeah....THE QUARTERBACK IS A FREAK. A FREAKY FREAK OF NATURE. |

According to the coaches, alot of it was already fixed.....during the game against ArkySt even....Just hear me out. AU special teams gave ArkySt the ball on the AU 27 by fumbling the opening kickoff of the second half...leading to a quick score...After that, (the last 28:16 of the game) Arky St. had only ONE drive that had more than ONE first down. Yes those 2 have room for improvement, and yes I think that time off due to injury affected them. I think though that they will only get better, and I think the score gave ArkySt a little more credit than they deserved.

OVER OVER OVER... Auburn is gonna put up 40+ and Miss St has an Offense this year...I think Auburn will give up at least 14 and probably closer to 20+....JMO

First off, Anyone know what the line was for Miss St. Coming into Auburn last year? I cant for the life of me remember...
Ok, right to it.... big Auburn fan here so I'm definitely drinking the Orange and Blue Kool-Aid. Pissed cuz I can't explain the -2 line or the reverse line movement here...i guess the biggest question mark is Auburns D. And fucking cowbells. I wont deny Miss St. moved the football well last week, but against who? Memphis's D is terrible...way worse than ArkySt, (who i think finished 41st last year). I know that part of the reason for this line is AU giving up 26 to ArkySt, but AU's improved on D as the game went on. Arky St. held close for a while..35-23 (13:16 left in 3rd) but then the Auburn D stood up and allowed only 3 more points after that. All the while Auburn kept scoring at will. Auburn's D struggled in the secondary early last week but held it together late in the game...meaning Miss St. has a chance to keep it close, but i still dont think they will. I wouldn't put too much clout into Miss. St holding Memphis to only 7 points either...good job guys, but Memphis won 2 games last year, and finished 7 games with less than 16 points. I would expect about 10 points or so against an SEC D....so 7 isn't too far off that number. I know the game is in Starkville...I think the cowbells are nothing more than a ridiculous gimmick. Bring the noise, your fucking arm will give out after the 1st half when its 35-10 AUB. Bottom Line....I really feel like AUB will score over 40 and Miss St wont break 30 War Damn Eagle

Really hope AU can pull this one out....also Dyer looks like the real deal....yards after contact are crazy....lets hope he can still get those yards in the SEC, and hope he doesn't decommit

If you are the #9-16 team, it is quite possible that your team travels to three different venues in 3 weeks. A nghtmare for the fans, the teams, and the administrations. Cut it down to an 8 team playoff, and you still have major problems. Then their is the Bowl situation. The Rose Bowl sells out every year, no matter who is playing. Can anyone explain to them how they will generate more money going to some different system? What about the Rose Parade, which means nothing to football fans, but everything to the Rose Bowl Committee. Do you really think that the Rose Bowl would allow a game to be played on a day other than New Years Day? If you do, comtinue to dream on. It will never happen. You have a point, but honestly this is the kind of attitude that makes it so that it will "never" happen....If you really think about it...what power should the rose bowl committee really have over all of college football? They are tied in to so many people's pockets which is the only reason they have any power....all im saying is that the system we have seems to be corrupt and the rose bowl is actually the shining example of just how corrupt it is. Oh and one more thing....teams HAVE road games....they happen, and in strings too! So i don't think 3 road games would be too terribly strenuous on a team

Just to show how the SEC compares to other conferences......here are the 6 BCS conferences bowl records over the last 3 years
Big 12: 12-11 ACC: 10-16 Big Ten: 6-16 Pac 10: 12-5 Big East: 12-4 SEC: 19-8 So....The SEC has played in more bowl games over the past 3 years than any other conference....has WON more bowl games than any other conference...And is above 70% in win percentage in those games

I couldn't agree more with you about all these teams right to play for the championship if they go undefeated, but i think it has nothing to do with bias if they dont....it has to do with the teams at the top starting there at the beginning of the season. Dont forget, in 2004 Auburn went undefeated and were not in the championship game because USC and Oklahoma had been 1 and 2 all year....I think if anything the problem is the ranking system and lack playoffs....when will the NCAA realize that we HAVE to have some sort of playoff system?

Dont know where u got your stats Koko...but ESPN has Alabama listed at 13th in rushing yards per game, 98th in passing yards per game, and 33rd in total yards per game with 410....
Dont get me wrong, I like bama to win this one, but u need to check your numbers

Yea, i think ur right that 16 teams would be too good to be true....but if u have time for a 4 team playoff (+1), you realize that if you add an extra week you have an 8 team playoff, and one more week equals 16 team playoff....so the difference to go from 4 to 16 teams is only 2 weeks!! Seems possible to me...just that no-one will back it.
All that has to be done to find that extra 2 weeks is shorten the regular season by one or 2 games, and possibly extend the season by 1 week....there are so many solutions its insane, but no one likes to change anything, and no one likes to stir the pot.
