Anyone got inside info on who will win the awards. I took Ray for Best Picture, only because it's at 50 to 1 odds. Aviator is the heavy fav but i'm not gonna eat chalk for an awards show. What about Eastwood for best actor, also 50 to 1 odds. Apparently neverland doesn't stand a chance 180 to 1 odds. I think Ray could suprise some people, the other movies weren't any better and according to the a poll i read most people want Ray to win. ||clover.gif' border=0>

dude...y dont u just send the money u bet on ray to me its just as good...haha nah i wish u good luck but theres no way in hell it wins...hell it wont be in the top 3...million dollar baby will win, then aviator, then sideways....sideways actually has the only slim chance to suprise but that wont happen....i would lay whatever chalk necessary to bet jamie foxx...he has it locked up no way he doesnt win. In a perfect world Clive Owen would win best supporting actor but he wont it will be freeman. Blanchett will probably win supporting actress that natalie portman deserves, and so does virginia madsen. Swank has it locked for best actress and im guessing they give scorsese his first oscar. so here are my picks...Ill lay whatever chalk necessary
Foxx
Swank
Freeman
Blanchett
Million Dollar Baby
Martin Scorsese

That overhyped sack of crap about the womens boxing doesnt deserve to win shit. why should it win? because she dies at the end and clint eastwood cries? gimme a f'n break. Scorcese makes great flick after great flick , he deserves a best picture and best director oscar this year

I put 10$ on Sophie Okonedo at +1200. I think it's worth a shot, since Don Cheadle is being nominated for Best Actor and he's been getting a lot of love from the media, if not hype. With everyone already giving Best Actor to Jamie Foxx, Oscar voters may be sympathetic to Cheadle, and do what they feel is the next best thing- vote for his costar.

This is great...My wife always gives me hell about watching sports and gambling. Now I can "spend quality time" with the wife all the while maintaining my degenerate ways. Hell, I might even get laid tonight.
Keep the winners coming!||an_cheers.gif' border=0>||reallyhappy.gif' border=0>

Aviator
Foxx
Swank
Scorcese
Freeman
Blanchett (Did not see any movies except Sideways-Madsen was really good but not enough throughout, Thomas Haden Church should get it if Freeman gets stung)
Mud, I like the price you got on Leo!

Million Dollar Baby was an excellent movie.
for Hilary Swank to play the role of a female boxer, getting beat up in the ring like that, then to play the part of a quadraplegic, in the same movie no less, is truly outstanding. That's why this movie deserved all the awards it got. A great story, from rags to riches to being paralyzed then death.
Just glad there was no shitty movie like LOTR this year. Hopefully they'll stop making that shit.

Clint Eastwood sucks.
Dude - what are you even talking about?
You pipe in about flicks all the time here and your opinions are enough to make a real fan gag and twitch. You seem to only appreciate your film going experiences with a movie that cost $200 million to make.
Scorcese is much better. Okay, sure (is he though? much better?) but to give an Oscar to The Aviator after shafting him on all of his previous efforts? What an insult that would have been.
"Million Dollar Baby has to be one of the worst movies that ever got best picture . . . Too bad no one will remember that movie in a few years."
I know movies are a very personal experience and this forum is a place to share those experiences and opinions, but this is one sad excuse for a movie critic.
"Anyway, 2004 was a horrible year for movies and so is the outcome."
While the intentions of this statement might have some merit, 2004 was still very much just another year in Hollywood.

Mudcat, ||Peace_5.gif' border=0>. You add the relationship with her family and what they did to her, at least twice in the film, was very sad and a just a small slice of what can and does happen in the real world. It was a film that will always be a classic.
