Hello all I live in Panama and this is my first time post on this forum. I have been following Rugby Union leagues in Europe and have also taken an interest in rugby union in New Zealand and Australia. Got a question concerning the rugby union leagues in New Zealand Is there a difference in the quality of team play in the Championship league versus the Premiership league? Also, do the teams in these two leagues provide the players for the New Zealand national team?
Appreciate all input...Will be looking forward to posting my picks in the near future.

New Zealand and Australia have a rule where their players must play in the superrugby competition otherwise they are not allowed to play for their country. Generally you find kiwis at the back end of their career go over and play in the premiership to earn an easy quid. Standard is pretty poor

Well right now in New Zealand we are playing the competition known as ITM Cup. This is grassroots rugby and the feeder competition for the Super Rugby competition at the start of the year. And as above you must play in New Zealand to be able to play for the All Blacks.
National Rugby League is different or NRL as there are not as many rules around that and is a differrent sport from RUgby, they have similar rules but also very different in some as pects

Thanks...for a country as small as NZ is...it is amazing the teams that the All Blacks have put together. I first heard of them when I was stationed in the UK back in the 60's...and then finally got to see them play in last World Cup....The guys who play rugby world over make the NFL players look like pansies. The players in NFL could take lessons from rugby teams on how to tackle... I am really looking forward to learning more about the game and participating on the posts....I have been doing pretty well on picks from the competition in France, England, Ireland and Wales... Thanks again and good luck on all your picks..

I would have to see that that rugby would be slightly easier to pick as it is not as much open format running rugby. A Track meet type of game like we have here in NZ.
Yea AB's are for sure the big boy.
I Love my NFL MLB and NCAAF and spend a lot of time in them forums looking at my fav cappers and just trying to learn. Although make all my own MLB stuff.
And yea your right the NFL players could learn alot about defending a player and also the RB's could learn more foot work and how to make a real cut or as well call it a side step.

Not that much between any of the ITM Prem and ITM Champ teams.
That is when all the All Blacks squad is out (as they usually are).
Remember this squad takes out between 25-30 players.

How have you gone on French top 14? one of my fav leagues to bet on. Home teams kill it. In fact, home teams win SU at the highest or one of the highest %'s as any pro sporting league on the planet.

Chivashoolio....Oh so wrong about what? Rod_Steel...I was betting on NFL back in 60's ... that answer your question? Davenz...Top14 is my favorite league..I have done very well..Home teams usually do kill it although there are more teams that do well away from home (Castres. Biarritz, Toulon etc) Last week was a real killer for home team SU...and over on totals....Aviva Premier is also good league for home team wins. Thanks for your input
