Brisbane v Manly
Manly coming off a short turnaround. Last Firday night, 2 teams, Dogs and Broncs were coming off a similar short turnaround (both played on the Sunday before). The dogs defense was the worst it had looked in a long long time, conceeding over 20 points and also conceeding 2 tries in the last 20 mins of the game in which they have an excellent record.
I have no doubt that the short turnaround had an impact on them as on all teams at this late stage of the year.
The Eagles blasted the Knights last Sunday in the first half and lost the second half. The last time they blasted a team in the first half (parra), they played 6 days later and got thumped by the knights. I know B Stewart wasnt playing that night and manly had a few missing, but i have no doubt, the game and how they played perfect football that first half against the Eels had an impact the following week.
Manly have also had a brutal travel schedule and i think it may finally catch up with them.....
It is very very hard to back up and replicate that effort that hey gave last Sunday.
The Broncos played "ok" against a well drilled storm team last Friday, however, they didnt give a penalty, that wont happen tonight.
The NRL absolutely need Brisbane in the semis. They get Gillett back (Outstanding player) and McGuire who i rate very very highly. They are 2 big additions. Wallace also showed signs of improving. Dont forget, Manly pinched the Broncos wallet the last time they played with a try in the last few secs to win...
I really like the Broncos here with the start or maybe even under...
I cant see manly blasting a team in the first half 5 days apart...
