Also took the under in the Drags match......Dont know why but i did..I had second thoughts as there best defender - J Smith was out and i thought that could have overs impact, but it didnt.
Went to the dogs game and for the 1st time this year they decided to play defence which was surprising....Tigers i thought were a bit behind the pace, missing Moltzen and Payten...Any way , good to get the 2 points....
This leads me to the next conclusion.
Both games went well well, well , well, well UNDER....
the last 3 NRL games have gone under.
The last 7 of 10 games have gone under.....
U know what that means.......
Smack the daylights out of the over.,Trust me

Rostos you must admit though, even though the Dogs won convincly last night there are still some worrying signs
They had the rub of the green all of the first half, dominated possession and territory yet were only leading 6-0 at the half. They scored their points in the second half basically as a direct result of the Tigers having tackled themselves to the ground
I'll be looking to fade them consistently throughout the next 2 months.

while i do agree plenty of things went in their favour in terms of posession & field position - and also that they failed to capitalise on this - i also believe that they set out deliberately to make this particular game exactly how it panned out.
They were in a desperate situation where they NEEDED a win and they also know that if they got into a shootout with the tigers that they just couldnt win. Their defence has been horrible all year leaking points regularly and i think this is related to their attitude towards games. Even while losing this year ( see knights, warriors ) they have played flamboyantly - throwing the ball wide continually etc. It just plain and simple hasnt worked - and the tigers are certainly not the team to keep trying it against.
Only way to reverse this ( as their tactics reflected ) was to go completely the opposite. Try and GRIND a team into submission. Ball possession, field position, high completion, and denial of the ball to the opposition ( especially in good field position ) to get on top in the long run by wearing them down. I thought they executed what was an obvious pre game tactics PERFECTLY.
Am perfectly willing to admit that i am a bulldogs fan and hence inherantly biased, but i am also a league fan in general and i thought that for THIS situation the bulldogs played a VERY good game.
First to admit however that they will not win the competition playing football like last night, primarily because there are teams out there who do what they did last night better than what they can ( at least consistently )
I just think that they played how they needed to play last night to get 2 points to keep their season in motion, and give them a chance in the back half to "be themselves" and challenge in the semis.
comments & thoughts are welcome, appreciated

I backed the dogs last night because they had to win. I give them credit for sticking solid with their plan, especially when they could only manage 6 points given all the ball and field position they had. A lesser side would have started trying to force offloads etc.
But put it this way: I was very nervous about my bet at half-time. It wasn't until Benji missed from in front that I felt comfortable

No doubt that was their plan bullet.

I think the Mutts will be a coin flip a good part of the time. I'll pay attention to them for the next 3 weeks and go from there.

Same phenomenon seems to be happening with me as last year. If I don't like the over, it's generally going under. And I actually took the St George under. If I can get over this mental tick, I may take a few more unders this year.
