I was at the Dogs Manly game round 1 last year....
I have never seen rain like that in my life, that was for 60 minutes of the game....
I was sitting fairly high up in the grand stand, certainly enough cover on my head, but i still got drenched, as if i jumped in the pool, thats how hard it was raining, thundering and lightning...
The fact is Over 50 points were scored in that game......
I remember Souths played Broncs 3 years ago, it was ridicolous the amount of rain, there was over 60 points scored....
Broncs v Tigs, it was murdering rain, there was 40 scored in the 1st half and 70 for the match....
The fact is, is it a myth?
We have seen games played on a perfect pitch with perfect weather during the day, and only 20 points scored in a game...

its all going to depend on the teams handling of the ball. if there dropping it all over the place then teams wont be able to get on a roll and score points. however it works the other way too. when the attacking team drops the ball close to there own line and gives the other team a short feild.
its also alot more difficult to defend in the rain, changing direction etc.
speaking of rain, its just started raining here in sydney

Agree Rostos..Myth...Weather occurs in pockets also which means where I am in Sydney at the moment is fine..No rain at all..But Lochie has rain..Pockets my friend...Pockets...Still think totals being severely effected by rain are gone unless down pours like the one in Melbourne recently..Fields are much better nowadays, with drainage being their unltimate aim...Thats my bit I`m going over in the Riff tonight..Rain,hail or moon...GL Rostos
