Can't help but like the home doggie this afternoon. The game is being played at 4pm NZ time, and Auckland should be quite wintery in the middle of July. The last three games the Warriors have played at Mt Smart have been 14-0 v Tigers, 13-0 v Knights and 16-18 v Bulldogs, when Ben Barba scored a late try to deny the Warriors a deserved victory. They play the ground well.
NZ get their heroic skipper Steve Price back for the game, as well a young-gun winger Kevin Locke. Interestingly, the man who endeared himself to Justin Hodges, his "brothers", and the rest of the redneck population across the border by lifting an unconscious Price off the ground and dropping him, Justin Poore, lines up for the opposition today. Do not even try to tell me that the Warriors pack won't be loooking for him today.
The Warriors managed to score 30 points for the first time in 2009 last weekend. Granted, it was against a rubbish Roosters team, and the Warriors were rubbish themselves. But this is and always has been a talented outfit, and maybe, just maybe, this gives them the confidence to make a late run at the finals. There is plenty on the line at stake today.
St George have been the best team in the competition to date and it would be remiss of me to speculate that they might not turn up today - they most likely will. But I don't see them running up the score, given the conditions I'd say they will be fairly conservative, and they may just have half an eye on this Friday's match at home to the Melbourne Storm. NZ have got a lot to play for today as well, and I believe that they are a good chance to cover if not win this thing straight up.
Warriors to cover +6.5 v Dragons

I do not think the Warriors pack will be out for Justin Poore too much. Poore apologised to Price and Price accepted the apology as the true professional he is, as he accepted the apology from White.
They might give him a bit of a welcome but that should be about it as Price won't be after him himself. The Dragons are a big step up from Newcastle and the Tigers, and as for the Dogs, well if Ryan didn't drop the ball over the line in the second half the Dogs would have been up 18-6 and the game virtually out of reach. But he did and the Warriors took the advantage and nearly won the game. I do also believe they had a weight of possession in that game, but I could be wrong.
Anyway, best of luck and hopefully it will not be decided by the usual referee blunders.
