Ecuador -0.5 +115 ($1000 to win $1150)
I know the host never loses games and I know it's been a 100% loss to take anyone but the host in the opening game of a World Cup but Qatar is the worst World Cup host in history of this event and I don't believe any of that bribing stuff we've been hearing the last few days. Ecuador is one of the more underrated Nations in this tournament and they have some really good players. We saw Qatar play some decent defense at the Gold Cup in 2021 but I also saw some pretty bad gameplay and Ecuador now that all those bribe rumors are out in the open, are going to come into this game guns blazing. If they can whether the early storm we are inevitably going to see with the crowd going crazy they should be able to pull through. Enner Valencia is a stud up front and has 34 career goals for his Country and I picked him in my Sorare Football lineups this week. This price for Ecuador to win is just too good to pass up and I'm going for it. Ecuador to win this at plus odds? Yes please.

Massive winner on Ecuador to open the tournament and breaking a 22 World Cup streak of the host not losing the opening match. We have 3 games on the menu today for day two of MatchDay 1 and these should be some good ones. GOOD LUCK TO ALL!

England -1.5 +108 ($1000 to win $1080)
Not sure how to explain the way England has played the last year or some leading up to this tournament but it's been ugly and they have not won a competitive international match in over a year. Gareth Southgate is however still the manager of this squad and they are still the same England that managed to reach the Semi-Finals of World Cup 2018 and the Finals of 2020 Euro Cup coming within a few penalty shots of winning it all. Finally. I think England is probably the least talked about contender heading into this event because of the way they have played and they could be a few good game away from turning things around. Iran just can't score goals and that's unlikely to change against this England team who like to play at a snail's pace. I know people expect fireworks but that's just not how the Three Lions play. The options up front for Southgate are insane with Bellingham, Sterling and Kane likely to start with it's possible Foden and Saka also get the nod in this one. Nonetheless England will be methodical enough to win this game despite Iran being really solid defensively. I'll take this bet for sure. England is sleepwalking into this tournament and I think they surprise a few people.
Senegal +1 -120 ($1200 to win $1000)
Oh baby what a game this was supposed to be if Sadio Mane had been healthy enough to play at Qatar 2022 but it just wasn't meant to be. No team in this World Cup moves the ball at a faster pace than Senegal does and I was really lookin forward to seeing that pace go up against a Netherlands offense that in their last two or three major competitions (they missed World Cup 2018) have averaged almost three goals per game more than any other Country. What the betting public and most people don't know is how good Senegal can be even without Mane. They still have Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy and Chelsea Defender Kalidou Kolibaly to go along with other star players such as Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye, Monaco winger Krepin Diatta, Watford star winger Ismaila Sarr and young 21 year old emerging star midfielder Nicolas Jackson who plays at Villareal in La Liga. I see this game finishing in a draw and I think Netherlands will find a way to score on here but I love these odds because for me Senegal will play inspired fast paced football in the absence of Mane. Big game!
Wales +0.5 -166 ($1660 to win $1000)
I got to watch quite a bit of this TEAM USA group in the CONCACAF Qualifying chaos that saw Canada finish #1 in the Group and I have to say I was not all that impressed. They have a ton of young talent and they some supertsar players like Christian Pulisic and Gio Reyna that can make them very dangerous but the chemistry on this team seems to be an issue under Gregg Burhalter. I know the Americans can find a way through the Group Stage but they'll have trouble with this Wales team that loves to sit back on the ball and basically lull opponents to sleep before a big counter. It makes for pretty boring football but this game could have quite a bit of action. This becomes a tactical issue for the Americans the more Wales plays back and the more they frustrate them into making mistakes. In their last seven meetings with non-European nations Wales has gone 3 W, 3 D and 1 L while allowing only 2 total goals. This is a great matchup for Wales and I see them grabbing a draw or maybe even winning.

England absolutely destroy Iran and look like one of the deepest teams in Qatar. Next match should also be a fun one and we'll see what Senegal is all about without Sadio Mane in their lineup!

My one and only mistake so far this tournament has been to have not given enough value to the Sadio Mane injury. It cost me in the Senegal-Netherlands match and I will have to give it serious consideration moving forward. Mendy made some big mistakes but entire match changed at 0-0 when Koulibaly went out with an injury. Got some of it back with the Wales play where I expected that kind of game.
Onto tomorrow!

Another winning day and now we move into our first 4 game slate of the World Cup (starts at 5am ET)
Tuesday, November 22
Argentina -2 -133 ($1330 to win $1000)
How in the world does anyone expect Saudi Arabia to keep up in this one? I think the entire world has picked Argentina or Brazil to win the World Cup in Qatar and on paper they most definitely have the strongest teams. For those wanting to drop a bomb on a massive Saudi upset you are going up against an Argentina squad that is unbeaten in 35 matches coming into this game. Yes 35 games withouth a loss. Those wanting to bet on Leo Messi scoring goals please understand his role with this team is playmaking and he has been a master at setting up teammates for goals. Argentina should easily win and cover this number and provide fireworks to anyone getting up early enough to watch this game.
Denmark -1 +107 ($1000 to win $1075)
This is the one game so many are calling for an upset but I just don't see it. The emotional return of Christian Eriksen to a major event is finally here and the last time we saw him with the Denmark jersey on he almost died on the pitch. The Danes are not flashy and they don't have a big name goal scorer but they are very technical, they are fun to watch and they don't hold back from taking chances. Goals likely won't come easy against Tunisia and this is a Tunisian side that is going to have chances of their own but G Kasper Schmeichel is a beauty and he will shut the door. The fans should be wild for this one and at these odds in a game where I see Denmark getting better as time goes, I'll take the win by more than a goal at plus odds.
Poland +0.5 -188 ($1880 to win $1000)
I don't usually take these kinds of odds this early in the tournament but I could not find another wager I like outside of betting on the DRAW in this one. I see either a DRAW or Poland finding a way to grab a winner in what should be another fun match to watch. The pressure is on Poland Striker Lewandowski because he continues to score a crazy amount of goals at the club level but has never really led Poland to much at the International level. I think this is the year. Mexico I got to see a few times in CONCACAF qualifying and they were okay, nothing special as they go through a bit of a transition stage. I'll take Poland.
Australia +1.5 +108 ($1000 to win $1080)
Oh my goodness this is an interesting match. Everyone expects France to walk right into Qatar and win this game 4-0 or 5-0. Yes Kareem Benzema is gone, he's out of the World Cup and it's a shocker but they won the last World Cup withouth him and this is still a very solid squad. Having said that, Australia is going to slow this game down to a snail's pace and that could cause issues for France who in the past have started tournaments very conservative, very boring and with everyone asking questions. I think the Aussies can be competitive and France will be happy to just make it through this match with an easy 1-0 win or something similar. I like the odds here. France will be one of the bigger disappointments of MatchDay 1.

Went from being up big to a disastrous day on Tuesday and it all started with the Argentina fiasco. It then escalated with Denmark incapable of grabbing a goal at any point in that game and ended with Australia and their horrendous defending where it looked good after being up 1-0 early. Only down $300 on the tournament and tomorrow is a new day with new wagers!

I am paying up a little bit here just in case Morocco don't get the win like I think they can. What you have to know about Croatia is they are aging and they are not getting any younger than they were the last few times we saw them at International events. We all saw what an early afternoon game in the deadly heat can do to a squad in the Argentina-Saudi Arabia match yesterday and this match actually ressembles that one so much. Morocco is used to this heat (as was Saudi Arabia) and Morocco fans are going to show up massive numbers here. Hakim Ziyech (Chelsea star) is back with Morocco and I truly believe Saudi Arabia set the tone for all underdog upset hopefuls like Morocco. This should be another great match and I'm going with the upset or at least a DRAW.
Germany -1.5 +110 ($1000 to win $1100)
Here we go. The new era of German football is finally starting to put things together and they are an exciting side to watch. With Hansi Flick in charge of this Germany side you are going to see more pressure forward than we have ever seen from the Germans and that could make for some really high scoring games including this one. This style of play leaves them vulnerable at the back for sure but Japan, who Canada just beat 2-1 in a Friendly, don't have the strongest back line and the German firecrakers are going to be a nightmare for them all match. This could get ugly. I am stunned these are the odds we are getting on Germany at plus money to win by more than one goal. The European powerhouse sides (France and England) have all shown up so far this tournament. No upset here. Big Germany win.
Spain -2 -104 ($1040 to win $1000)
I just finished mentioning how good the European powerhouses have looked so far and this young Spanish team should be no different in this one. Luis Enrique is a brilliant brilliant man and he must know what he's doing leaving guys like Sergio Ramos and Thiago off the roster in Qatar in place of much younger and fresher players. I mean the Semi-Finals loss to Italy in penalty shootout at Euro 2020 is still very fresh in the minds of the Spanish players and outfit and I think their style of play is a great fit for a huge win in this game. Costa Rica is by the far the oldest team at this event and that doesn't bode well for them against a young European side like Spain. The Spanniards will have fun in this one and show why they left their old guys at home.
Canada +1 +107 ($1000 to win $1070)
Canada have finally made it to another World Cup after almost 40 years and this has potential to be the match of the Tournament. I say this because John Herdman is a winner and he has this Canadian side, that is loaded with talent that plays in Europe and in the CL, believing they can do anything. Alphonso Davies is healthy and ready to go and unlike we saw in the Denmark match where the Danes couldn't finish anything up front, Canada has some big time finishers in their lineup (Larin, David, Davies) and they have one of the most underrated counter attacks at Qatar 2022. Belgium's back line is in big trouble here. I am calling for Canada to win and at the very least DRAW. I also predict they score their first ever goal at a World Cup of soccer.

Expect better with the Canada match and still beliebe I had the right side. I also picked the UNDER (not posted here) and will likely start considering O/U picks moving forward as I have done pretty well with them. Spain looking mighty but Costa Rica was horrific and what in the world was that from Germany. Too many missed chances and entire game changed when Gundogan was subbed off way way too early. Onto another big four games tomorrow round out MatchDay 1.

Switzerland-Cameroon 'UNDER' 2.5 -154 ($1540 to win $1000)
The games the last four days have been hard to predict. We've had two super early games (early afternoon in Qatar) that saw 3 goals (Saudi Arabia-Argentina) and 0 goals (Croatia-Morocco) for a total of 4 goals in those games. It's the hottest point of the day and it seems like teams are content playing close games in the second half although the Argentina and Saudi Arabia game was absolutely insane. Swiss keeper Yan Somner is healthy and ready to go and that's huge. Switzerland was shutout 2-0 in their last warmup match against Gahan which is a bit concerning. Cameroon come into this tournament in a world of hurt having lost 4 of their last 5 competitive matches. I think both sides go back and forth and find it hard to score. I could see Switzerland winning but I could also see another low scoring game in the heat.
South Korea +0.5 +115 ($1000 to win $1150)
The entire world is going to be on Uruguay for this one because they are the shinny new toys of the competition and by that I mean they have a certain star player in Darwin Nunez that everyone is looking to see play alongside some of the other big names in this squad. They key for me here is seeing how Argentina played in their opener against Saudi Arabia. Similar teams with star players that feature on Europe's biggest clubs and it didn't workout too well for them. I don't trust the South American region just yet. South Korea will have Tottenham superstar Son Heung Min in their lineup and wearing a special mask for his eye socket injury. The issue for Uruguay here is that South Korea are so difficult to score on and cause all sorts of issues for high scoring teams. They allowed only 3 goals in their last 10 World Cup Qualifier games. I think this is an upset special potential and South Korea will put up a huge fight.
Portugal-Ghana 'UNDER' 2.5 -103 ($1030 to win $1000)
Another match where people are expecting fireworks because of the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Brunon Fernandes and all the firepower Portugal has up front but there is also drama that comes with all of that and I'm not sure Portugal is tight as a unit right now. Either way way Ghana are not a fun opponent to take on. Look at their lead up to the World Cup and you will see what I mean. Ghana come into this tournament having won seven of their last eight games overall and have kept clean sheets in all seven wins. Their only loss was to Brazil. Included in those victories was an impressive 2-0 win over Switzerland. I know the competition wasn't incredible but 7 clean sheets in 7 wins is special and they should be able to quiet this Portugal attack that could be dealing with internal drama. Goals won't come easy in this one.
Brazil-Serbia 'UNDER' 3 -137 ($1370 to win $1000)
We all see Brazil winning and I don't think it will be an issue although 85% of the money on this tournament is on Argentina or Brazil to win and we all saw how that worked out for Argentina in their opener. Could Brazil suffer the same fate? It's possible. These two Countries met at the 2018 World Cup in Russia and that match finished 2-0 for Brazil. Low scoring. They also faced each other in a 2014 Friendly and that match ended 1-0 for Brazil. Low scoring. Make no mistake about it I don't see an upset in this match and I think Brazil will be a lot more organized than Argentina was but I also see some possible chemistry issues that take a few matches to workout. I'll take a 1-0 or 2-0 win for Brazil but the UNDER 3 is where I am going for this one.

3-1 (+$2120)today with my only loss coming on a Portugal-Ghana game that was 0-0 at Halftime and exploded when CR7 decided to open the scoring and get the party started. I'll take it. I was leaning on Portugal -1.5 in that one anyways so a loss is a loss and this one was easy to swallow.
