EPL 20/21 Winners = Spurs

Serie A 20/21 Winners = Inter Milan

so league 2 and Bolton, in the EPL not too many years ago, survived bankruptcy and are short faves here, another grade down but doesn't mean this league is a gimme, passed over at the odds as are Salford city owned by some Man U players but could only find mid table after promotion from the national league. Big spending Mansfield were early faves last season also but ended up fighting the drop. I'm going for two 14/1 shots here, Cheltenham got into the playoffs and only lost 6 games all season, they remind me of Accrington stanley a couple of seasons ago, unfashionable but hard to beat. 

Tranmere were relegated from league 1 and like Bolton are a "big" club here, the 3rd team in Liverpool, Mickey Mellon is well known in football circles and he can craft a team to go up at the 1st attempt, they are as low as 8/1 with one book so I'm grabbing the 14/1 thats available.

So League 1and this is horribly open, Ex EPL teams Sunderland and Pompey are faves and you could see them winning this outright if things finally go their way. Peterboro hav had some investment of funds, oxford have been moving in the right direction also, Charlton, Wigan and Hull were also in the EPL not many moons ago and theyve dropped down a level from the championship.

I like Ipswich or as Norwich fans know them (Ipsh!t), they are managed by the very savvy Paul Lambert and the best striker in the league in James Norwood, at 14/1 they'll go close, and like League 2, i'll go for another 14/1 shot in Fleetwood, Joey Barton was a nutcase as a player but he guided them to the playoffs and they lost the least games all season bar leaders coventry. In a very open league, these 2 will give a run for your money.

Championship next

The hardest league to get out of but for me, it looks a little weaker, Leeds and WBA were easily the best 2 teams in the league and should go well in the EPL, Brentford will be in a new stadium and bedding into that and their lack of a star player puts me off them at a short price. The likes of Stoke and Forest should make the playoffs but I can't see them challenging for top spot. You always look at who's come down from the top flight, Bournemouth will be rebuilding with Eddie Howe gone and some of their best players gone, they make not make top 10, watford have changed manager AGAIN, I like Naaaaarwich to bounce back, they played some attractive football last season, beating citeh no less, the canny Faarke is still there and they've made a bumper 9 new signings, that EPL experience will stand them in good stead, they're short at 6/1 but They're my pick

should be a 2 horse race again, scousers and citeh look head and shoulders above the rest. You could go Citeh Liverpool in an "exacta" or back the Scouse outright. I prefer the latter, Look what Liverpool did the season before, pressure is on Citeh to bounce back, they've made some useful signings but Pep doesn't handle pressure that well if you look at all his CL failings and I'm with the school of thought that Liverpool now have the monkey off their back and like buses, you wait all day and then 2 come at once, 9/4 is a big price for a champion to win again.

I don't see a lot of value in the top 4/top 6 market, it should be the usual suspects. I made some nice coin last year with leicester finishing top 6, the buzz team this year is southampton but thats a stretch for them but they are a fair bet at 6/4 to make top 10.

No-one is odds on for relegation this year which is strange, Leeds should stay up but WBA and Fulham will struggle, of the 2, WBA have the weaker squad and at 11/10, thats a very fair price for them to go right back down. There's always a "big" club that could go with them and I would plump for Newcastle, their takeover fell through which really depressed the whole city, they heavily rely on their home town atmosphere and no fans will hurt them more than most. So 5/2 is a good price, West ham are also value at 4/1 but wile they're certain to finish bottom 10 (sorry seymour), they should stay up.

Top scoring team will be Citeh, lowest scoring team is a crapshoot.

I will back Aubemayang for top scorer again ayt 11/2, he shared it 2 season ago, was 1 behind Vardy last year who won't have a year like that again, main rivals Salah is priced up on reputation from a few seasons ago and Kane will get injured. Citeh strikers rotate too much.

agree with most of what you said. All of it actually. Thoughts on Werner for the golden boot? First year in the league, when was the last time that happened? Lol

how long do you think it’ll take Lampard to “gel” all those shiny new pieces together? On paper, they have some real talent going forward. Think they still look weak at the back. And if they sell Kante, which I still can’t see, then they really concede some goals this year. But just curious your thoughts?  I think it’ll take a while before they hit their stride. But I think Werner will be a legit goal scoring threat from match 1.

ya know Boll, dont think Ive ever given you the props (honestly, never thought it was necessary); but youre knowledge of England - as a whole, not just the EPL - is pretty d*mn extensive/impressive. a close friend of mine up there is right on your level, just rattles off these lower division clubs finances and "goings on". and tho you might not put up an encyclopedia youre one of the big reasons to still pop into this place for me.  and i personally look forward to THIS thread especially.    now we can get back to our typical bickering with diego, michael, scotland, var and what not.

hope you dont mind my asking, buddy is off on vacation, figured Id ask, a little off topic but diving ito team props with Serie A soon; Roma/Darth Vader did their "shopping" in Britain and have Smalling(ManU), Mkiht(Arse) and Pedro(Chels) all 3 expected to get heavy minutes this year and dont know what to expect. i WAS deadset on their total goal prop, you got anything on them?

DTP, yeh didn't mention Werner, he's in single figures which is crazy as you say in his 1st year in the league but he's the real deal, good signing by chelsea and they should get a CL spot, I'm still on the fence as to Lampard as a manager and they haven't got a figure like John Terry at the back, on the plus side Havertz is another top signing and you can expect Mount and Abraham to improve with another season under their belt.

Spec, thanks but its more fleeting knowledge, i couldn't tell you who plays upfront for scunthorpe for example! Yeh, "Dirty" Leeds will stay up, Bielsa will make sure they play more conservative than they were in the Championship, I'd like Aub to be a bit more selfish, amount of times he wanted to square the ball to Lacazette.

I don't read any of those signings to be honest, they were all castoffs, maybe they'll do better in the less hustle and bustle of Serie A, pedro barely started for chelsea last season and him and Mikht are in their 30's, they're regressing for sure.

Aub scored but Salah got a hat trick and Vardy got 2, a typically interesting 1st week of a season. Fulham and WBA already look hopelessly outclassed. And I won't talk about Tottenham if you don't.

Oh and sorry about the "free" winner on PSG, , someone should tell them to collect points, not red cards

figured id stop in here first.   "fleeting"??  ( i actually had to look that up).   you call this 'fleeting'?  . i know you dont like 'bragging' so ill do it for you.  you need to give urself a little more credit ya know     anyways, thanks for the info, always appreciate whatever it is you have to give.     I  couldnt have asked for a better start with Arse/Chels getting 3 each and Palace opening with a 'w'.   only reason I didnt take another stab with Aub is my melon didnt like the idea of taking the same player 3 straight years.  so instead, what does this genius here do?   takes his team total instead    I swear im going to need Rolaids for that one by seasons end; but yes, its a big one and really jumped out at me like an eyesore when I first glanced through everything and you know as well as I do the amount of futures offered up in the EPL every year; so its saying a lot.     we'll see how it goes. 

getting the "encyclopedia" organized, will post the plays in a bit but get the writeups up tmrw; you'll probably laugh at this but I actually trying to cut it in half. friends wanted a run-down of each club and actually started last week and im not posting all that in here.  for me practically have to do two writeups being bilingual has its drawbacks. swearing in italian is much more pleasant to hear ya know . ehhhh      if everything goes "as planned" this could end up being a barnburner in Serie A this year.

so League 2, final games tomorrow and my 14/1 pick Cheltenham are 2 points clear of Cambridge, Cambridge have a better goal difference and play rock bottom Grimsby, Cheltenham need to win, they're still favorites to win the league but I do have an opportunity to hedge on Cambridge here at 2/1. Not sure how much to stake here as I'm not big on hedging but I'd hate not to recoup anything from this
