Wolverhampton put a formal resolution on the table for the June 6th meetings requesting that VAR be scrapped. Citing that all it does is slow the game down, it is subjective what is reviewed and isn't, plus they get it wrong almost as much as the get it right. English football is better off without it.
It takes 14/20 clubs to approve the resolution for it to pass. Experts believe that the resolution will be indefinitely tabled as many clubs are not willing to go on record their position for or against it (cough cough Arsenal being one). But for those of us who absolutely DESPISE it, definitely a step in the right direction. But sadly I am sure it is here to stay. Barf.

I hope they scrap it. It's terrible and what I hate the most is how they can rule a goal out because of it was offside by a fingernail during "buildup" of play which was like 20 passes before the goal.
It definitely sucks the life out of the games.

Absolutely agree. I rather see a challenge system like the NFL to correct human error in critical moments of a match. One challenge per match (unless you win your only challenge) and there has to be indisputable visual evidence to overturn. The challenge has to be one of a few areas (offsides, handball, interference, etc, etc, etc) and to your point not the offsides on the build up shit for the reasons you said.

Clubs will feel that they'd rather have technology available for getting big decisions right rather than not. They'll mostly agree it needs improving and will give the PGMOL time to do that.
I think in someways Wolves raising this issue is good because it puts the PGMOL on notice - though they kind of already are. This season has been a disaster for VAR, but semi automated offsides being introduced will help the amount of delay we see in games - which are largely down to offsides. I imagine this will be part of the argument for keeping it.
They could also do themselves a favor and restrict involvement to just major errors in the penalty box and leave red card decisions to the referee to get right or wrong.
So again, I don't think they'll can it but I do think we'll get a better version next season - at the very least because of semi automated offsides.

It will get voted down.

its not going anywhere. its here to stay. how else can they fix these bullshit matches. i despise this VAR. they could VAR anything they want at anytime but they only do it when its convenient for them. its absolute bullshit from day one and if you think otherwise, you're part of the problem.

... As of Thursday afternoon, 2,173 voted in favour of scrapping VAR while just 517 voted to keep it - giving those in favour of removing VAR a lead of more than four-to-one.
