 Hi Specimen!  That's a wise old mate who shared that with you!  I like the mystery of your comment versus my physics' teacher's comments that rain drops fall with a constant velocity because the weight of the drop is balanced by the sum of the buoyant force and force due to fiction (or viscosity) of air.  Thus the net force on the drop is zero so it falls down with a constant velocity.
