Playin defense for the whole game. These guys sit back and let Spain control the game. Where was the attacking football we saw against England and Argentina? Even Paraguay could have beaten Germany today. Uruguay will beat Germany.
How about this?..................
Spain THOROUGHLY outplayed Germany and completely dictated the game. They deserved to win. As far as "level of play" goes... I would actually go on record as stating the Spain dominated Germany.

Aside from the fact Ozil was fouled inside the penalty area just before half-time and the poor officiating at this WC continued with no penalty awarded, Germany let Spain play its possession game unhindered inside the 1st 6/10ths of the field. They sat back and waited for that possession game to come to them. What did Spain do when germany had possession anywhere on the field? they were almost always immediately at the ball-carrier like a rash.
Germany weren't outclassed (which is an assertion that no matter what they'd done they'd have been beaten anyway, such is what class does to the classless), they simply paid the price for pathetic tactics. They failed to get in Spain's face, and made Spain look like world beaters, when in fact this Spanish team is absolutely toothless on attack sans David villa being involved. If the Dutch get in Spanish faces all day long, and bottle up David Villa, Spain will not hoist the trophy.

Germany: "Spain was who we thought they were! And, we let 'em off the hook!"
Spain destroyed them in EVERY facet of the game, period. The score didn't do this game justice. Should have been a blow out.

^^you obviously have no conception of the penalty area - see that little half circle at the top of the screen (the ball rolls over it between the 1 sec & 2 sec mark, when its clearly visible)? thats marked on the edge of the penalty area. Since the players are passed it (the 1 sec mark) before Ozil goes down (2 sec mark) clearly makes a mockery of the suggestion it happened outside the penalty area.
Second, that video begins too late in the sequence, and has the wrong angle. The slowmo replay from behind those players during the actual game itself clearly showed the Spaniard making contact (which is ever so briefly visible at the start of the linked video).
As for the suggestion its a dive, well, anyone wanting to argue it wasnt a real penalty is going to say nothing else, given the Spanish player made contact with Ozil. The circumstances of that contact? Ozil had the ball, and no other immediate defender stood between himself and the goalkeeper. So if you're a Spanish defender, and a youre the only 1 between an opposition player going 1 on 1 with your goalie, and you're on the wrong side of that player to directly challenge for the ball (here the ball wasnt between the 2 players, it was on Ozil's right, and the defender was on Ozil's left), you have only 1 task - to do anything necessary to prevent that player getting his shot off. The Spaniard did so, and the ref did nothing about it.

no shit sherlock - read my post and watch the video again. Ozil comes down AFTER THEY HAVE PASSED THE CIRCLE TIP AT THE TOP OF THE PENALTY BOX, meaning - for those who have at least 1 brain with which to process logic - he came down inside the penalty area

You need to go back & look at the video again - the red youtube band is almost 30 cm long. Stop the counter at 5 centimetres (pointing at the counter still registers it as 0.00 time gone), and you'll see (1) the Spanish player is still holding Ozil's arm (near the end of his interference) at the point (2) where Ozil's right foot is almost on the ground and, at the same time, well past the line that separates the top of the penalty area from the circle tip - at said point Ozil still hadn't started to fall (Ozil is upright at the beginning of this video clip, which starts as they're in that circle tip, but outside the penalty box), & only began that fall when his right foot hit the ground inside the Pbox. Ozil was being interfered with while inside the penalty box, and before he fell.

No way that was a penalty on Ozil the guy put his hand on him and Ozil took a dive
You're an idiot. The defender kicked Oezil in the left Achilles' tendon, which knocked his left foot into his right leg and tripped him up. It has nothing to do with the defender's hand.
