Serie A:very nice start for the new year. we'll see what this wknd brings.
Pending: Fiorentina +1/2 @+130, to win @+450 - Napoli-fade continues. won their Coppa midweek vs a Serie B squad handily so it might have helped mentally. nasty week for them with Fiorentina, Lazio, & Juve all paying a visit.
Lazio/Samp - Samps current form is going to make this one interesting; Ranieri has them playing extremely well. prices are tempting but its not wise to get in front of a 10 game winning streak with a club whom has a "0" in the 'L' column @ home this year. PASS.
Sass/Toro - Torino has lost just once in past 10 H2H's, but havent won at MAPEI since previous decade. Sass sliding down table. last 5 here ended level. going for 6 with a decent price. Sass/Toro draw @+240
Milan/Udinese - hopping on the "train" again, put thy trust in Milano once more and hoping head doesnt get served back on a platter. Udine opened the season beating them 1-0, but this is a totally different Milano team now. backed them both last wknd & midweek Coppa as that switch to a 4-4-2 formation has done wonders for them. and mood in lockerroom is different a buddy says. the second Piatek found out his name was on the market he quickly turned down the offers and then goes out and bangs in the first goal last wednesday. Udine have been playing decent themselves but they are not very good on road and have been thumped by every team sitting in top half of table (except Inters 1-0 win, but Inter dominated). taking Milan -1 @evens and toss a little more on that.
Brescia/Cagliari - both need the points badly here, and more importantly, both thinking they can beat the other. Brescia opened the season with a shock 1-0 win at the island, and get their best players back for this one. Cagliari free-falling, lost 5 straight, and have conceded 2+ in 9 of past 10 games. tempted to take the home win but thats more of a 'heart' thing, however, suprised the O/U is this low. got to jump on it. Brescia/Cagliari over 2.5 @-120
Bologna/Verona - Verona is my one big suprises/black eye this year. i still think theyre about to slide but theyve played EVERYBODY tough on the road; lost by a single goal to Juve/Inter/Atalanta (and actually... held the lead vs ALL of them in match). too tough a call. PASS.

(time to have fun, outrights far too juiced)
Lecce/Inter - Lecce & their leaky defence still with a goose egg in the 'w' column at home. and probably bad timing to catch Inter after they dropped points last weekend. and on top of that, Inter has scored before the 25th minute in 7 of their 8 roadies this season (didnt count Milan derby).

***Inter continues to do their "shopping" in England (EPL) this year. Giroud & Young makes it six (i think); got that young Brazilian stud back from loan whom just led Flamengo to the Lib title. and theyre about to open the piggybank for Eriksen. chr*st. i might have to re-arrange my thoughts on their UEL chances because their bench is now DEEP & experienced***
Genoa/Roma - Roma just has far too many injuries & suspensions. coming off a short-rest with a trip to Turin on Wednesday and then their lovefest with Lazio next weekend. thats pretty bad timing. but cant back Genoa, they dont score enough at home. the btts has hit in 7 of past 8 meetings for the offering, but I dont like the juice. PASS.
Juve/Parma - well, we fell asleep and conceded 3 in the final half hour last year. Parma coming off short rest and and Christian finally found his scoring boots. so that cant be good news for Parma. not touching the HC lines till I see this backline of ours. everything too juiced. PASS.

Spain:
Villareal/Espanyol - Espanyol currently in the basement in Liga; yet advanced to the KO stages in Europa (go figure). they were one of the best teams in Liga in the 2nd half of the season last year losing just twice in final 17 matches. and it all started with a draw vs this opponent. well, apparently they are healthy again and have a new coach. went into break getting a pt vs Barca in their city-derby. worth a shot vs an opponent whom theyve lost to just twice in past 10 H2H's. i still think theyre a much better team than their record indicates. we'll see. Espanyol +1/2 @+125
not a really big fan of using stats as the sole reasoning; but one of the things I look at in January are those clubs whom got booted entirely from UCL/Europe (those 4th place teams) and stuck in mid-table in their domestic league. such clubs tend to drop a ton of points because of the UCL distractions, hence, their mid-table status; so now their focus entirely shifts towards domestics and quite often you see them go on unbeaten runs in Jan/Feb now that the schedules are unclogged. toss in the winter breaks and rosters for the most part are healthy again. for the record, this year these clubs are Galat, Lokotimov, Crvena, Zagreb, Genk, Slavia so there might see quite a bit of value in their lines.

had a nice wknd, got back in time to catch the Juve match. my concerns validated, we dont know how to park a bus this year.

honestly tho, been guilty of doing that too with those clubs. look at a line at night and then next morning? massive line movement. only to realize was looking at the wrong line/team. its just weird because I USED to always spell it 'Ghent' many moons ago (thats actually the PROPER spelling of the city). Ganda probably knows far more about this than I. but for some reason kind of got lazy and just spelled it Gent, dont even know when i started doing that.

after Violas big win on Sat as the 'fade' continues was content with splitting the rest of wknd and thats pretty much what happened. annoyed didnt take the outrights on Espanyol as well. Inter had their "bad" game.
