This is a post to warn people and give a brief summary of what is going on with the new champions League.
As we all know with the rise in technology, people that traditionally have followed sports now have other hobbies they spend their time on , mainly social media.
There has been a decline in viewership from young people. This has been brought up by real Madrid legendary president who is a successful business man.
Therefore to increase viewership he wanted to create a super League where teams with large markets would play each other. This could not happen due to the CL format where big market teams usually met during the knockout rounds.
Well with the CL format being changed we are now seeing how UEFA was forced to make this change.
Why does this matter to us?? While the games may be more entertaining, it makes them way more unpredictable due to the different league styles and strengths, there will be many upsets and that is great for entertainment and the books. For us not so much, therefore I would advise anyone to be careful.
