Even the announcers are dumbfounded

@Vic-Vega
Lmao. That literally made me laugh out loud.
This was supposed to be the tournament that puts US soccer on the map and proves to people we can compete. Ooops

I can’t help but think how every single Sportsbook was boosting USA odds and profit boost and no sweat on USA.
Like who was everyone going to bet, I mean in general? lol
then u get that call. Hmmm. I knew when I started see every single Sportsbook boosting the match that USA was not going to win.

And still in this match you had not one, but two US players looking like Luis Suarez out there. One fould early in the match was McKenna standing over a player and not letting him get up. Hard tackles all night that could have taken out a few Uruguay players--I think one was concussed.
The last foul before the set play and goal, Reyna made a brutal trip, and I noticed walked away from the player unconcerned. This kind of--for lack of a better word, sorry Yanks--arrogance, does not make friends.
I'm sure Panamanian players MADE EXTRA sure they won, because USA players were brutal in that one.
You would NEVER see that kind of a culture say from Japan. I think as a host nation, for God's sake, set an example. Several USA players looked so angry and uncompassionate, and as you say "sucker punching" That is thuggery.
Maybe it can "fire up" your own team, but seems to me, many teams in their own CONMEBOL do not like Team USA, and I think that's a missed opportunity. USA ought to be an example of sportsmanship, fairness, some kind of respect, too.
Uruguay covered Pulsilic well, blocked many passes, forced USA to fire from distance (not their strength), and Uruguay had better chances, and should have won this 2-0 or 3-0. The "offsides" is due to FOX having a terrible angle from above, and not parallel to the 18 yard line. Also, looks like it deflected first of a USA player. Video angles can deceive.
USA was overranked at #11 and certainly needs to be ranked AFTER #14 Uruguay. Get players that play headsy, don't lose their cool, keep that reckless testosterone led frustration under control.

US Media always pimps USA soccer and we all know how ACCURATE they are with their information.
USA sucks at soccer. Maybe if our best athletes played soccer instead of basketball, football and baseball, we would be able to compete. But that’s never gonna happen. Soccer gets third rate athletes in the USA.

Im not 100% sure its an athlete problem. I spoke with someone who is a uefa liscensed coach. He mentioned player identification is a large part of issue. He would always tell me if you go into any large city you could find 11 players in a park better than we put out there.
I think they travel ball mindset hurts us a bit too. Mls is starting academies but if we want to compete with rest of world have to go all in like rest of world.
