Uruguay/Saudis over 2.5 @-130 - had put a decent chunk on this one and letting it fly. took all of 40 minutes last Thursday of watching the Saudis defensive shifts/marks (and the match was still close at that time too). though their midfield is WEAK, Cavani and Suarez going to get their chances here. With Russia winning, Uruguay obviously will want to match, theres also that goal difference but I dont necessarily think theyre too concered with this. Saudis want to put in a better performance, I actually think they might even score here, but they dont know how to park a bus and their best chance is going forward.
I called out 'Godin scores off a corner. (or will come pretty damn close), Saudis didnt even mark players off set pieces last week, so i dont even know what that was they were trying to do. we will see how this shakes out.
adding: 1st half over 1.5 @+130
Portugal/Morocco - lost in all the excitement of that 3-3 draw with Spain it seems is the fact that Portugal lost a lead - TWICE, were gifted a goal, and put 0 shots on target in the 2nd half. they also lost possession by almost a 2-to-1 ratio. But this is an entirely different opponent, in a scenario where Port will have the ball at their feet instead of defending it, and an opponent whom doesnt possess the skill-sets the Spaniards brought to the table. aside from what we saw a few days ago, these guys are usually slow starters.
Morocco themselves gifted a goal after dominating long stretches. which makes predicting this match dicey. theyre going to park it I feel and rely on their sturdy defense to keep it close. In Benatia, they have the size and skill to at least make life difficult for Ronaldo; but im leery of taking the under here as like yesterdays egypt match, the situation does not dictate this.especially, if the portuguese find the net first. but I think both will be satisfied with heading into the locker room level.
Port/Morocco HT draw @+110

Love the Uruguay play! Lots of missed opportunity goals last game for them. They looked very physical though and against a saudi team I see this very high scoring

honestly, i loved the over 2. i have btts. Morocco +1 and a bit on draw, so i guess I'm really leaning 1-1 here for value as my most LIKELY score was 2-1 portugal. I don't see ronaldo scoring 6 or 7 goals in group....
that being said....do we see the first 0-0 final? maybe.....but friggin hell there is no damn way i can bring myself to do it. i think I'm satisfied with my play atm

good luck spec.

ry, vaas, hit boy did I get that one wrong. its not so much as the loss in itself (ill make that one up) but that was a pretty sad performance i just witnessed. those uruguayan fans sitting there cheering at theend of the match..... all i can say is, yes... it was a win OK. and the name of the game is to get the 3 pts and --- more importantly --- advance........ but if that was an Italian team, and those were italian fans i can rest assure you we wouldnt be cheering them. cant speak for other countries but if theres on thing we dont have the stomach for is.... lack of effort.
anyways, passing on the Spain/Iran match. i got Iran pegged to advance so no need to risk anything here. my thoughts:
this will be one of thoe games where you see a team have 70-75% possession --- without a red card being called --- Iran is a tough nut to crack, but this is a seriously steep upgrade in quality they are facing. if Spain shows some patience theyll have little problems. but if its 0-0 or even 1-0 at the half things are gonna get interesting. I dont even think Iran is even going to open it up if concede 1-0.
what the h*ll is croatia doing in the 300s tmrw?

Really poor performance by Uruguay indeed. I mean it happens that they don't cover but how can you turn up to a WC match with this mentality.. Especially coming from a South-American team..
I'm really fancying Croatia tomorrow.. Will most likely make a play on them. Yes Argentina has Messi and Aguero but the rest is terribly bad.. Poor defence, no midfield..
Messi barely ever steps up in Argentina matches and starts walking over the patch rather soon when things are not going their way.. You saw that in the match against Iceland as well.

They weren't great, not by any means. But the playstyle of Argentina should play right into the hands of Croatia as well I believe.
Messi and Aguero won't be close defending most of the time leaving 4 midfielders of Argentina against 5 of Croatia. This will always leave either Modric or Rakitic open which are players with a phenomenal pass and insight. I really think Argentina's midfield is going to get exposed pretty ugly.

Deep, ppl gonna blame cavani & suarez, and i ge that part--- they both only run when the ball si coming to them. but that midfield is non-existent, i went off on them in my group threads too. the weakest of any 'big' team there. cant win 50-50s, cant pass with accuracy, and have zero movement off the ball. and a HC whom is too stuck in his ways.
Urus are a "supposed" Top 10 team playing with the characteristic of an underdog MINUS the effort as well. two straight games now, shame on them. but they did whats necessessary i suppose. they will get destroyed vs the first opponent they face with a decent midfield.
croatias MF vs Messi. im gonna wait on this line too, seems as if lots of Messi-love coming in yet again. croats gonna OWN the center of the pitch tmrw.... but will that be good enough?

yoro..... Croats midfield is the best in the WC. the gave a clinical textbook-style performance on how to neutralize an opponent with better speed/athleticism in Nigeria. of course, Messi is a whole nother thing but Lionel will be receiving the ball higher up the field tmrw forcing him to make longer runs. gauchos will need more than him and the spotlight goes on his teammates. they are going to at least need to keep those battles and wint the 50-50s respectable. but they dont have those type of players. not saying croats gonna win yoro.... but good lord, i feel they shouldnt be 300s.
