What Handicapper Resources Do You Think Are Worthwhile?

I am interested in learning about any worthwhile resources/tools that are available - whether for a price or for free - to help make informed bets on the World Cup this year (and on soccer in general).

I have always been a fan of StatFox's Foxsheets and Platinum Sheets for other sports. In that vein, what sorts of resources and tools are available and worthwhile for the World Cup and soccer in general?

Just hop on the Vanzack bandwagon. He might be the best capper cover has in any sport. he has been killing it for years and he is never BS&#x27;s his record.

There are a lot of different sites that offer various information. Each one has its benefits, and limitations. As any capper worth his weight will tell you......never blindly tail anyone. Formulate your own opinion based on the information you have found, then refer to other cappers for additional insight.

I&#x27;m gonna blindly tail Vanzack, practice money management and end up at the end of the world cup with more money in my account than when I started. If I studied world cup soccer eight hours a day and made my own decisions I&#x27;d do worse. good luck to everybody. I only make my own picks for college football because I&#x27;ve been following that for years. Admit what you don&#x27;t know and follow someone better IF they have an established record which Vanzack does. To each his own. If i knew soccer like I know college football it would be a different story but I don&#x27;t.

It&#39;s all about learning the sports zud. I hear what you&#39;re saying but franz is right, one should really never blindly tail anyone. Not only are you giving up control of your own money, you&#39;re also putting unrealistic expectations on the picks.It&#39;s taken me 3 years to learn how to cap soccer (many different leagues) and I have been working on learning baseball for 2 and I still can&#39;t bet it. Well at least we understand each other and respect each others opinions. even if we have different ones. That's cool. I believe i would be having unrealistic opinions if in my ignorance of world cup soccer I made my own picks. I'm studying the beautiful game, maybe in another world cup or two I'll be at the position you guys are. best luck everybody. I know it's a lot more fun to interject ones own opinions after studying multiple other ones, I do that in my best sport, but I'm just a typical guy from the US who doesn't know diddily about soccer.

Yep. Last year I did real well. I study the mid major conferences and bet on them. I find there is real opportunity during the first half of the season with conferences like the MAC conference and the Mountain West. It is my opinion that the lines get too tight in the high profile games and late in the season. We had i lively discussion group with a bunch of funny people who didn't get all stupid rude with each other over in the official games section. I find it a real shame that some cappers put a ton of work into giving free picks and then when they go on a normal losing streak then the A-holes come out of the woodwork and drive them away. I worked hard to teach money management to newbies and to make gambling enjoyable by wagering what you can afford to lose. If you are good your bankroll grows and then it gets real exciting with house money. Hopefully I'll grow my account a bit and just leave it in till football season.

Lord......The only thing I will add is this....I too don&#39;t believe you should blindly tail anyone and I only say that because folks who blindly tail tend to pick and choose from the person they are tailing and to make matters worse...they interject their own plays of their own and it can lead to a complete mess. Once you start picking and choosing from whoever you are tailing you than arecasking for trouble because you may just happen to take some of the tailers losses and not take potential winners so please beware.I wrote an article on that topic a few years ago and I say this.....if you are going to tail....than you must take all of that persons plays. Tailing Vanzcak means you must take all his picks so you are rewarded with his end result....and don&#39;t add any of your own or anyone else picks that may change the final monetary outcome....Just my thoughts.....so your choice is do it yourself Which is good......blind tail one person like Van that you believe in and take only and all his plays which is good.....or blindtail from one or more sand start picking and choosing which can end badly.Enjoy the WC......Glad you know your own ability .....CheersInvestinsports

Well said investinsports. I tail every pick of Vanzacks I can, some aren't available at my book. If you are going to tail...you must tail all of that persons plays. I don't change tactics, just ride it up or ride it down. Money management means a small percentage of my bankroll on each pick he makes exactly at the units he dictates. If I lose, I don't complain, if i win I thank the man. I love world cup soccer but I would be a hopelessly square and ignorant bettor if i tried to throw in my own opinion. Good luck everybody, win or lose, allow gambling to make the fan experience more fun. I do not follow just anybody in any sport, trust me on that. Very few cappers have the earned reputation Vanzack does. If i lose, live and play another day. Too many intense people betting money they can't afford to lose, that's not me.

I wasn't really looking for cappers to tail, however. Rather, I am more interested in knowing if there are any worthwhile number-crunching, stat, or trend services out there that provide date through which I can comb and come up with my my own trends and correlations.

I was hoping that perhaps the "money ball," "sabremetrics" mindset might have caught on with soccer enthusiasts and led to services or sites that provided data sets, databases, trends, analyses, studies, etc., regarding players, teams, playing styles, refs, arenas, etc., that could inform my betting decisions.

Put another way, I was wondering if there might be the equivalent of a Statfox Foxsheets service or a FootballOutiders.com or a KenPom.com site for soccer.

The World Cup 2014 is a one off event every 4 years. Noone has anything really solid to work off. That is the perplexity of betting this event. It shouldn't be looked at as a serious money maker. The regular sports played day in day out ie MLB is where you can find such information you are looking for.

Serious money makers except bookies don&#x27;t touch such glamorous events as the World Cup with a bargepole, except if they got great inside info.

It takes people years to build up reliable handicap data. It is unlikely they will just hand it over to you. If you stay around long enough on any given topic thread ie soccer, MLB whatever, you will learn what good cappers use to make their plays. It takes time, patience, experimentation, backtracking and a whole lot more to refine your handicap resources. Bet no more than 2 units at a time, don&#x27;t chase, bet your fair share of solid underdogs, try to out value the bookie and other players (always check the final value/line of your picks) - you want others getting your picks at a worse price by game time. Ie if you play something at -102 you want others getting at a worse value by game time like -110 or more, for example. If this is not happening a majority of the times you place your bets (and you need a big enough sample size to know), you need to reassess your betting strategy. Find that something which the majority of cappers don&#x27;t know/have or get and you can put that secret trust in your picks.
