Since you can only make 1 play/day you are basically playing an open-ended 21-team parlay that spans over a few months. This sounds complex, but is actually rather simple: to figure the odds of hitting ANY parlay(not factoring in money lines, but instead the standard 10% pointspread juice) is 1 divided by (2 to the nth power), with "n" being the number of teams selected. Eg., for a 4-team parlay, n=4. 2 to the 4th is 2x2x2x2, which equals 16. So your odds of hitting a 4-teamer are 1/16, and the house offers you MUCH LESS than 16/1 on your money if you are lucky enough to hit it. Why do you think they love parlay bettors? Because the cut they take out is enormous! But back to the 21-teamer: 1 divided by (2 to the 21st power) is simply 2 times itself 21 times, which is 2,097,152. Do you get back your fair payoff of $2,097,152 if it hits. No. You get $100,00. But, hey, it is a free contest, so who can complain? BTW, the science of math really bores the hell out of me, but I STRICTLY follow and respect probabilities and juice when I do gamble at sports or poker or what have you. Hope that helps. I need a beer now. ||reallyhappy.gif' border=0>

Camplowe, please pay better attention next time before making an ignorant statement. It just makes you look like a dumbass. The thread I started explained the odds of hitting 21 straight games, and if you READ closely, I mentioned that I wouldn't complain because it is FREE. So next time, do society and yourself a favor and read closely before making a fool out of yourself again. Good day. ||an_shake.gif' border=0>

Loco-D congrats on your very nice run at the top prize, but the vig on parlays is INSANELY higher than on straight bets. The vig is already deducted from your potential payoff. Eg., the odds of hitting a 3-teamer are 1/8, and you would be lucky to get 6/1 back from a sportsbook. And in this case, the books are making 25% juice as opposed to 10%. and the payoff % only gets worse with the more games you select. Hope this helps.||thumbs_up.gif' border=0>

Like I said, Wiz... it's not much higher... do the math...
Teams Payout ML equiv
2 2.6 -111
3 6 -110
4 12 -111
5 24 -111
6 40 -117
7 75 -117
8 150 -115
teams is # of teams in the parlay
payout is how much you could win... ex) 6:1
moneyline equivalent is the ML on each team in the parlay
as you can see, not that much higher than the standard -110
books that that offer these or better odds include pinny, 5dimes, carib, wwts, and cris

Loco, after looking up the ML calculator odds, I have found that I was erroneous and you were correct in your explanation. Thanks for clearing this up.||win.gif' border=0>
