You will not get favs bigger than that. Riding ace starting pitchers for a streak anyone can do.They aren't gonna give money away. You have to look at a lot of things with baseball for example...travel schedule..injuries..etc..etc..

Not the money lines- I understand that would be unfair. I'm talking the combined totals on those matches, for example NhL usually 5 or 5.5, MLB 7-9

I agree with you about still having a chance to pick the total on these one sided money line games.  During BB season there will be stretches when there very few qualifying games to pick from.  Could cost someone a streak  Having a chance at all totals would give more opportunities to keep their streak alive.

I know that Covers is dying to give that $100K away.

I wonder how it would work if they would use + and - runs in baseball like they do with points in football?
Then when an ace went against the other teams 5th starter the game would be available.
It sure would offer more games to choose from.

Good thought but baseball runs and football points just can't be compared. They give you the -130 and below which is fair for shoots at free money. Makes you pay more to injuries...travel...etc...etc...Totals are what they are in baseball.

I completely agree with you.  I think we should have an opportunity to pick the moneylines, and totals of games no matter what the moneyline is.  If people are really into sports and pay attention, big money favorites don't win all the time.  It's almost a 50:50 game just like you said.  I think it would take a lot more skill if all moneylines are offered because I've seen it happen countless times where there is a huge favorite (ex. Kershaw) and the Dodgers are like -268 and they end up losing.  Do you know how many people would've jumped on the bandwagon and taken the Dodgers that game? There would've been tons of streaks ended because everyone would've been on the Dodgers.  Some people say that you could just ride big money favorites? ...no, it won't happen.  Sure you can ride the favorites for a few wins like 4 or 5... but you WILL lose if you do that.  I think Covers is almost making easier in a sense by not offering all games (including big money games) because it eliminates the chance of people jumping on a huge favorite and losing.  Just my opinion on this whole thing.

That isn't what he said... A lot of people overlook the word "totals" not associating it with "over/under" in their head, but that is all he was talking about.  I agree with Covers not offering any selections that have better than -130 odds.  Yes, big MLs don't ALWAYS hit, but they do more often than not...that's why they are big MLs.

As for the Totals from those games, yes, it would be nice to have a shot at picking those (like the picking the Total on a lot of the Dodgers lopsided MLs).  Back to back, there have been Totals set at 6.5 (May 15-16).  The assumption is that the Dodgers would have to cover a bulk, if not all, of the runs set by the Total when it is a low number and they are such a heavy favorite.

In hockey, Totals and Side MLs are different.  Often, the totals could actually broach the ML threshold themselves (unless Covers just alters the number, which Vegas books seldom do), so it's a tough call to filter what makes it on as Survivor picks. Hopefully we eventually do see independent MLB totals on here though.  It would be a nice extra option, but, as it was stated earlier, I am sure they aren't itching to give the $100K away.  Just remain patient and/or make sure to analyze all available picks and go with the best one you feel of what's available.
