Question on to hedge or not

Ok guys, looking for some opinions here. If someone has a 16 win streak I can understand placing a bet with your book to hedge on the potential 17 game, that gives you a profit either way.

What about hedging if you are on 15? If you win on the streak you can hedge again on 16 and still make a profit. I was thinking something smaller on 15 say $100 or so and if you lose the streak pick you still pick up $100 with your book. If you lose the $100, then hedge on pick 17 for something like $400. Win 17 streak you get the $1,000 from Covers (and continue the streak) but lose $550 with your book.

Thoughts? BTW - I'm in this situation right now!

I personally wouldn't hedge anything on w15. On w16 going for 17, probably hedge 500 or so. On w20 going for w21 you definitely got to hedge around 10000. On w24, I would try to hedge close to 50000.

Personally, I wouldn't do it, but of course it makes sense. It's your call!

I dont believe in hedging at all.Not to mention that I dont have the extra money to do so either. These are free contests. If I win, I win, and by not hedging, if I win, I win more. But without hedging, I dont lose. Simple really.

Appreciate the feedback. Well, I took Miami +8.5 on the streak and did some line shopping and put a small wager on VA -6. So I hope VA wins by 6-8 points. Will be fun tomorrow if Miami covers today.

Good luck on the game.  The line has defiantly come down, and outside the home court might come down to if Guy can make his shots, or will he stay cold.  best of luck to ya. Set to be a very low scoring game so one would think they will keep it to single digits.  I like the hedge, but not this early, maybe not even for the 1k,  save your cash for the big hedge.  If I ever made it to 20, I think I'd have to hedge at least 8k. 

I'm liking the 20-19 score at the half.

I'm of the belief that is some inherent value in your picks once you get to a certain number of wins.  Why not get  something out of a contest that cost you virtually nothing to enter.

Well, going for the $1k tomorrow. I only bet $50 on VA today, best $50 I ever lost!

Clearly you are very good at this and Nice work!

If it was me and it is certainly not, but I would wait for big day with a lot of plays.  They take games away from you so you are going to need a wide variety of selections.  If you must wait the full 7 days then if you don't see anything then hedge or hedge a bigger bet.

It is very rare to have this kind of free roll so try your best to manage it and maximize profits.  Be patient and wait for your type of plays. 

My advice might be full of S>H>I>T but my mind wants to see you win it.   I would love to see you take home the big 100k.

Stay in the moment and dont look ahead, after all it is one play at a time.

17 to 18 you hedge 200
18 to 19 you hedge 700
19 to 20 you hedge 1.5k
20 to 21 you hedge 10k (if u win the pick its 25k for ya)

I am at 14 in a row. It is getting tougher and tougher to pull the trigger. It is easy when we have 4or 5 wins in a row. Nothing to lose. But for most of us,it is the only shot we will get at the money. I guess keep doing what I am doing.

Well I'm also tied for first for the month, so I will make a pick every day. Appreciate all the comments. I will hedge today and also try to get a middle if possible.
