Okay well i just came across an add on for excel. It is a neural network software add on for excel. It is called PredictorXL, on the web site it gives examples to predict horse and dog races and even an example to predict the stock market for the next day.
I was wondering if we put our heads together we can come up with parameters to predict the out come for football, basketball and baseball. I cant seem to find any examples on line. I have also spoken to the live help on the site, and they told me that there are no examples for team sports and that i would have to come up with my own parameters for the prediction.
so basically its trial and error. so that is where im at, trying to get some help or even make a team to come up with something that this tool can give us an edge. Any takers to help with this?

thanks, well i dont know that much about neural networks and how they work. i have tried the free trail of predictorXL and have tried to mimic the example of the predicting the stock market for the next day, in to predicting ncaa football scores. i have tried it with these parameters... TOP Time of Possesion PENALTIES TURN OVERS YARDS FOR / AGAINST POINTS FOR / AGAINST
with those parameters is has produced a predicted score....everything good right? nope, cause for some teams it predicts a very low score of less then 10...
i have a very simple excel spread sheet for this. what i did was jot down the above parameters for each team and each game that they played...i guess i have to be more aquanted with what neural networks do to get to where we want to go...
