after pitt lost in week #9 to cinn. which after that win of cinn, it made the stats that cinn. beat pitt. both games this year and also cinn. beat balt. twice too this year. And cinn. beat clev.once and play one more time in week #15 maybe. SO MY POINT IS: AFTER week #9 cinncy became 5-0 in thier division,so going into week #10 why doesnt the paper standings or even when shown on espn, they also dont have a little * next to cinn name that they clinched and won thier division and they are garunteed in the playoffs? is this true??? even if cinncy losses the rest of thier regular season games they are still in no matter what even lossing all the games left in regular season from week # 10 and on to end of regular season.Pitt. has no chanch to win division just wildcard only?? is this true? how do they figure it out? so in the nfl all a team has to worry about is just to win all 6 of your division games, and the team could lose the rest of the games going 6-11 and they garunteed to win thier division and be in the playoffs automatically? is this crap true? how does the nfl handle this case? plese someone answer me with the true answer. tony

Playoffs are determined by the best record in all games first. Head to head is next Then division tie breaker.
Pittsburgh is only a game behind the Bengals. Going 6-0 in the division does NOT guarantee you a playoff spot.
hey usakangy thanks for answering my question about playoffs, i was arguing with 2 of my buddys that are miami fans also to top things off and to make matters worse for me, but i told them dudes you guys are crazy the nfl and the teams are practing in the beginning of the season and you think the head coach tells his players that all we have to do is focus on only, i repeat only on our games that we play teams only in our division and if we go either 5-1 or 6-0 our team is automatically div. champs and garunteed in the playoffs. i said dudes you guys are nuts nfl is not set up that way just win those div.games and lose the rest non div games and were in. no way, and we argued back n forth and than they brought up about the time years ago when miami got in as wildcard and won thier div. or something like that, that someone got screwed. i said ya i searched that year and i foun it and it was a year with big controversy in it especally after playoffs are over, w/ miami or something but after that year they emplamented a new law for the next upcomming playoffs and no laws have been changed since so thats why i asked that question so i can show them goofballs the real answer, so please dont laugh at me fot that question, i was just trying to prove i was right thanks by the way you are welcome to be my friend, tony
