Excel Moneyline Payout Formula

Greetings

I am looking for the formula that will take the contents of an excel cell -123 or +123 and display the profit for a $100 bet. I already know that a $100 bet on +123 will be $123.00 profit and the profit on -123 is $81.00. -123 means you bet $123.00 to win $100.00 and +123 means you bet $100 to win $123.

Any help with a single formula to determine the payout for a $100 bet given a moneyline is greatly appreciated.

Hello,

Since you need to divide by 1.23 for the favorite line (-123) and multiply by 1.23 for the underdog line (+123) you may need to use 2 seperate cells.

In cell A1 Type Bet Amount

In cell B1 Type Odds

In cell C1 Type Fav Wins

In cell D1 Type Und Wins

In cell C2 Type "=(A2/B2)"

In cell D2 Type "=(A2*B2)"

Then in cell B2 enter your odds and in cell A2 enter your bet amount and the spread sheet should do the rest for you. I hope this is helps.

you could use the if function to make it 1 cell
if "odds+" this other "odds -" wise do this
like this
WIN or LOSS in a1
bet in b1
odds amount in c1
=IF(A1="w",IF(C1>0,(C1/100)*B1,-(100/C1)*B1),-B1)
if result is a Win takes odds and returns amount won not including original bet (add a"+b1" to BLUE)
if loss returns amount loss
