This is a continuation of the "Need Help Backtesting Please" thread. I had done three years of backtesting a very simple system that went undefeated over three years, but lost my notes. I will be backtesting the system again, but if anyone has time, please feel free to back a few teams and include the results here. I have never played this; I am just running the data to see what it tells me. Here is the simple parameter:
- After a three game losing streak ATS, chase the team to win ATS.
So far I have finished Boston over five years:
2014: (5-0)
3-game loss: 2
4-game loss: 2
5-game loss: 1
2013: (5-0)
4-game loss: 3
5-game loss: 1
6-game loss: 1
2012: (4-0)
3-game loss: 2
5-game loss: 1
7-game loss: 1
2011: (2-0)
4-game loss: 2
2010: (7-0)
3-game loss: 2
4-game loss: 2
5-game loss: 2
6-game loss: 1
Boston lost 7 in a row ATS is 2012, so it would have been a 4-game chase to win. I will be backtesting this for every team over the next few months. If you choose to help backtest feel free to add any results that you find. This isn't "my system" I just sat around one day and decided to "see what the data showed me" and this is what stood out. Thanks.
