I have just completed the initial work on developing an NBA prognostication system against the spread that indeed may have merit.
It combines the classical component of past-based statistics with a more quantum component of determining at-the-moment team personality.
The first day's testing went: 3-4. So I reviewed and revised the quantum component .. and the second day went 5-1.
Since a 13-game test is far too anecdotal to base a declaration, and because I could most certainly use some help .. in a number of areas .. I'm presenting my work so far in the hope that I can obtain some feedback .. etc.

After three days of testing, real-time results are 11-13 ATS.
If I could make a modification that determines when a strong team playing a weak team isn't going to bring their "A" game, the record would be 14-10.
Then, throwing out the two CLE games (it's hard to get a true reading on a team with such a low power ranking) we stand at 14-8.
Had we then been quite a bit less unlucky yesterday (PHI, DAL, TOR (bad info on injuries regarding both teams), and IND's inexplicable shooting meltdown (Granger 2-19?!)), the system would stand at 18-4.
So I'm happy with the approach .. and now I need to work on the "A" game problem. All suggestions welcome.
Results analysis can be found at the end of the document: NBA Wisevoice System .
