I was thinking about a betting strategy on NHL, is working like this:
We choose to bet on the end of the first period and we bet only in case one team has the lead (not in case of a first period draw!)
So lets say the score after first period between Team A - Team B is 1-0
We choose to bet for the team which has the lead:
and our bets in our example would be:
Team A to win by 5 or more
Team A to win by 4
Team A to win by 3
we choose the betting amount of each option in order we have the same return (lets say 90$)
Example
Team A to win by 5 or more @45 we bet 2$ ---> return 90$
Team A to win by 4 @15 we bet 6$ ---> return 90$
Team A to win by 3 @4.5 we bet 20$ ---> return 90$
We also make one last bet
Team A to win by 2 @4
but on this bet we just cover our previous bet which means in this example
Team A to win by 2 @4 we bet 9.33$ ---> return 37.33$ (=2$+6$+20$+9.33$)
Cocnlusion, in this example the total odd we can calculate is 90$/37.33$ = @2.41
So to sum up:
If our Team A wins by +1 (comparing to the first period) we get our bets back
If our Team A wins by +2 or more we WIN
If our Team A wins with the same lead, or loses or draw we LOSE
P.S.: I will try to confirm the odds in any chance (these ones were real)
What do you think of the system?
Is any spreadsheet available that can help to figure out if this works?
