I am working on a system that I plan to use in the 2010-11 NCAAB season. Looking at sports betting as a business investment, what would you fine people in the Covers Forum say is a REALISTIC return on a bankroll of say $1000 for an entire NCAAB season?

I think you should look at https://www.sportvestments.com/&#xD;&#xA;as a guide to see how well they have done in past years and go from there.

I have to agree with thinker1000 bankroll, probably want to wager 2% of your account per play.  So you are talking 20 per game.  Increase the wagers as your profits increase.  If you have a good system you need some solid money management to go with it.  If its an investment and not recreational gambling then you want some reasonable monthly returns, 10-20% per month would be very good.  Hard to find those kind of returns elsewhere.

I appreciate all of the input so far. By following traditional money management (2% bankroll wagers) over a standard 3 month basketball season, a good return would be to double $1000 to $2000.

A great return of $5000 would involve more risk for more return. Very optimistic response smdio. I like that. Do you have any advice to add which would make it happen easily? Not to say it cannot be done, however, a string of -110 losses could end the season early. I have been running many prediction models with various risk levels and plan to tweak it and run many more. "The body cannot go where the mind has not already been."

As I stated earlier, I plan on using this system in the 2010-11 NCAAB season. Yes, I will post all of my plays and keep a running count of wins/losses as well as bankroll balance. I will start a new blog in NCAAB Picks Forum. For those interested in following, I will begin December 1st. At that point teams have played 5-6 games and my system will have enough data to start.
