What's the best advice I can give to those who want to make tons of money betting on sports?
Money management is a good place to start, but not the best.
Picking winners should be obvious, but not number one.
Eliminating emotion and being strictly logical is high on this list, but it isn't the best.
The single best advice I can give you is compile historical research with respect to what the lines were set at. Folks, there is absolute GOLD in those numbers. What were the lines set at for the entire 2005 NFL season and how did the games turn out? (I picked that sport and that season out of a hat by the way).
Do your homework. Get large sample sizes. Baseball has some of the most profitable systems because each team plays 162 games each season. There is money to be made in every sport, I just chose baseball here since the sample sizes are the largest.
Well you ask, where do I get this information if it is so valuable? I'll list some places here for you to start. Use this post as your reference point.
Historical NFL closing lines This only goes back to 2006 if I remember correctly but it is a great start.
Sportswire This one would be labor intensive....but it covers MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL, and a few more.
Historical NBA Lines Seasons 2003-2005 are free here.
Sportsinsights is a pay service but contains historical data on the major sports.
This information will be extremely valuable for those with the inclination to use it to their advantage. It isn't easy to obtain--and for good reason.
Good luck.

Well, that is up to you I suppose. If you are sharp, you'll see patterns that you can exploit. That's what we do. This is how we are able to sell sports betting systems--we do all the painstaking research and package it into a system where all you do is play the game and win.
Good luck my friend.
