From December through February you have a lot of games to choose from on a daily basis with NCAAB, NCAAF, NHL, NBA, NFL, ect.. all going on at once. Last year, I had $1000 to start and my goal was to use the A/B/C chase system and play one game a day with the goal of profiting $10 a day.
I would look at all the games that day with a ML favorite between -230 and -350, look into them a bit and take the one I liked most. The A game I would try to take a favorite on the higher side like -300 to -350 if possible to try to win the bet on the "A" game most of the time. I seemed to mostly take home teams in NCAAB but I used all sports overall.
Anyway, I don't know what the math is in coming up with the probability in losing three -230 to -350 games in a row, all I know is I didn't lose once during the three months or so I stuck with that system. Hell, there were only 2 or 3 times in those three months where the scenario of having to play the "C" game even came up. Turned the $1000 into $1770. Yes, if you do lose one it will probbaly clean out close to a month and a half worth of profits from the system but it seems pretty easy to not lose.
Maybe this will be useful to someone. It sort of combines the mathematical aspect of system plays with the skill of sports betting and having a choice in who you take rather than some blindless system play that you have to play one specific team no matter what. Like I mentioned, I only like doing this form December to March solely because of all the choices that meet the criteria that you have to choose from every day.

Ouch! I guess my thinking was all the "systems" you see around here
that everyone praises seem to use the martingale theory in some form.
I just thought instead of waiting for all these crazy scenarios between
two teams come up (that are probably more luck or coincidence than
trend) to start the chase, that would be a way for me to get a play in
every day. Did well for me last year at least.

I never said I won everyday. I said I never lost. Loss = 3 losses in a row.
