longball...........the bulb will burn out in about 3-4 years depending on usage. They run between $300-$400. I've read where some people have gotten a deal on the EW, then replaced the bulb just before the warranty ran out. Then again, some EW's have stipulations on bulb replacement. Enjoy............that's a nice set.

Raging, had you not made the pointless comment, you wouldn't have expected anything but respect and you would have gotten it. I guess I could have given a better review so it didn't look like i was simply bragging, but I thought my link for the info spoke for itself. Just posting useful info for anyone in the market for a quality, large DLP at an affordable price. I'm also sorry for going down a sensitive road for you.
Mugg, my train of thought was, I'd probably be replacing this t.v. in around 5-6 years with whatever is the new thing and was hoping that the t.v. would make it. I know it's a gamble, but I'll fork over the $400 if need be. We are in the living room for around 3hrs a night on weekdays.
What's nice about this set is that there are three HDMI ports, which makes it nice if you have an older stereo with only component ports. The third one works out well for all you PS3 guys.
