So, visiting apple's site today, and being only minimally aware of the "controversy" regarding flash - which I confess to have been to ignorant of any facts to have much of an opinion.
Having read this sort of OP ED piece by JOBS, I feel I have a better understanding of the conflict and Apple's decision to go another direction.
But, Job's could have just been hosing me too!
opinions from Lippsman and others? I say Lippsman because you seem pretty on top of things in this dept. and you're possibly "anti-APPLE."

speaking of which, how do you get a link to go from here directly, after I've pasted it, Instead of having to highlight the link, right click, and search on google? Curious.

I understand the issues that were listed. It has almost become a standard, and sort, a joke that no mobile apple device will support flash. I think there is a future with flash for apple. Maybe the new iPhone this summer or next summer.
Conversely, opposing companies are taking advantage of this one major con, and are making phones and tablets that support flash, usb drives, and other things mobile apple products do not offer.
I guess it goes to show you, no product will have 'everything'. If one of the new tablets supports flash, you will be able to visit your flash friendly sites and do all that jazz. You just may have to charge it 1.5 times more than the iPad.

- well, I guess it's largely about money. By far, most of Adobe's customers are not Apple users. I was surprised to find that none of the smart phones have flash? As the next wave of computers comes in the form of smaller handheld devices, like tablets, its seems like Adobe will need to resolve the compatibility issues of Flash.

It's a huge joke. It's all about money and soon Apple will have thier own "flash" program. But he knows most of the Apple fan boys will just eat it up and buy the stuff anyway.
But then again....I am hearing some of the fan boys starting to get a bit irrated by Apples crap.

It may be a joke, but what about the crash issue Lippsman?
Grandstanding by King Jobs. He wants his systems to be closed and Apple will come out with thier "Flash"
There is so much out there that uses Flash and Jobs wants his baby to stay untouched. Apple is closed as it gets and Jobs wants everything to stay Apple and sure as hell doesn't want someone like Adobe running on the system. So he sure doesn't want Flash running on it. They could program the OS' to accept it with ease. He wants nothing to do with a PC.
For all the fingerpointing he's doing at Adobe he has 3 fingers pointing right back to him.

BTW, I am not anti-Apple. I am anti-paying way too much for a companies advertising and devices that don't do what they should do when they first come out and put features on them every 6 months or so, then you have to buy them again.
I-Pad, prime example of this.

But, and maybe I'm wrong, isn't Flash a problem for all smart phones, besides iPhone? If so, then the crash complaint would seem justified?
It is still a problem for most smartphones, but it won't be for long. I think within a few months most of the phones will support Flash. That could quickly make the iphone look like quite a dinosaur and way behind the times and weak.
