HDMI cables

Question

Just got a free 3 ft. HDMI cable with my directv receiver to use on a LCD HDTV.....Seems like a great picture.

Is it good as any other cable??

Would a storebought HDMI cable, (such as a 12 ft. Philips HDMI cable) truly allow me to get an even better picture quality??

I will need a longer cable soon anyway, as I plan to use a wall mount....

There was a good debate on this in the LCD vs Plasma thread in the General Discussion.  I and many other people agree that buying Monster cables is a complete waste of money.  Check out Monoprice.com ... they have all sizes and grades at much reasonable prices.  The only difference with HDMI cables is the coating around the cable ... more expensive ones are supposed to protect your signal better from outside interference.  I bought the 6 foot cables for like $10 and have no problems.

There are cables just as good out there for a good bit less
