I KNOW that this COOLING FAN would work IN ADDITION to a regular laptop fan.......BUT MY LAPTOP FAN DOES NOT WORK......is this FAN enough to make UP FOR THE LACK OF A FAN???

I'VE REPLACED A HARD DRIVE BEFORE ON A LAPTOP SO WHILE IM NOT LIPPSMAN, I HAVE SOME KNOWLEDGE. IM 99% SURE the fan is broken and Im curious if this COOLING DEVICE would be enough to compensate for the broken fan?

I've fixed many of my relatives laptops by just blowing the dust out of it. Just because you don't hear the fan doesn't mean it isn't working....although you could be correct and it isn't working. I wold start by removing the covers on the bottom side of your laptop and blowing out the dust. Most processors have heat sinks to distribute the heat that are secured by 4 screws. Remove that also and blow it out. Make sure you unplug your laptop AND REMOVE THE BATTERY first. Canned air is great but if you turn it upside down water gets sprayed....you don't want that so be aware of it. Those cooling pads do a good job but if your fan is in fact no good I don't think it will cure your problem.

Yeah, go the can of air route first. But I tell ya, changing a laptop cooling fan is miles beyond changing the hard drive. With a fan change out you will have to completely take the laptop apart, (Sans LCD screen)
Take plenty of photos and make detailed notes about which screw went where.
