Lipps, or anyone out there who can tell me what might've gone wrong--
I have an HTC Desire that came stock w/ Android 2.2 (Froyo). The apps I've loaded have finally eaten up too much of the phone's onboard memory (576 MB) that it has noticeably slowed down the processes. As any HTC phone owner will know, most Android apps cannot be moved from the phone to the micro SD card (a ridiculous manufacturer-imposed limitation if you ask me).
Rooting the phone's OS will take care of that problem, but the thing is, after installing the HBoot USB driver onto my laptop and trying to root the phone with Unrevoked (ver. 3.22), nothing happens past the splash screen of Unrevoked. I've never installed HTC Sync onto my laptop, and I've never even used the stock 2Gb micro SD that came with the phone (I immediately replaced it w/ a 16Gb mem card upon buying the phone), so there is absolutely no possibility that the HTC Sync on the 2Gb-card automatically installed itself (a big no-no for those looking to root their HTC's).
So why am I not getting any further than the startup splash screen of Unrevoked? Thanks for any help.

Unless someone here has your exact phone and did the same rooting process, you would be better off to post or search at xda-developers forum for an Android rooting question for a specific phone model.

Nope, false alarm. Turns out I had to install HTC Sync first before uninstalling the Sync part of the driver so that the PC can detect my phone, otherwise it won't. (The uninstall part was not indicated in the XDA forum threads). My newly-flashed phone's working great. Got some capabilities that are blocked by HTC in the stock versions.
Anyone who's got HTC around here, you should seriously consider rooting your phones and flash customized ROMs. I swear, it's the best thing that happened to phone functionality since caller ID.
Thanks for dropping by anyway, guys.
