Turned it on and my Motorola wireless router is connected and found it with "excellent" connection, but I'm not able to go on the internet at all. Page needs to be refreshed 4-5 times before anything comes up. A computer buddy of mine looked at it for 3 hours and he couldn't figure it out. He took it home, and it immediatly connected to his wireless network. I've had friends and family use their laptops and smartphones on my network with ZERO issues. We even tried connecting the internet directly to the laptop (it's currently plugged into my desktop) and still nothing works. We tried setting up a new network and that didn't work either.

It says the wireless is an Intel Centrino Wireless 2230, 2x2 bgn, like KktdocT said, look for an updated driver on that first and update.
Is the wired network card a realtek or broadcom (most likely one of the two)? If so, see if you can update that as well. That not working is odd and could be something with your network configuration on the machine. Did your computer buddy clear out the IP address, DNS and ARP caches, and stuff like that?
Also, see what the router signal is set to (g/n/mixed). Sometimes that creates issues with some wireless devices depending on what that is set to.
And lastly, if all else fails, get a different router. I had a realtek network card that wouldn't work with a netgear router back in the day no matter what you did. Like Lipps said, sometimes this shit just isn't compatible and doesn't want to work together like it should.

Some things to try if you haven't already:

Thanks guys...after I posted this, I just decided to spend the $55 and got a new router, and the free modem from my cable/internet provider that was better than what I had already. Hooked it all up, and was surfing the web in about 30 min.
Thanks again for the input!
