Is there anyway that you know how I can wire/rig something up, so that I can watch movies that are in my computer .....on my TV,
so that I can still talk shit with you guys here and do other things on the computer at the same time as a movie is being played from my computer but shown on my TV?

Things are pretty advanced in Zimbabwe now. We actually have 28.8 kb dial up now.
Exactly how advanced is your TV. Is it a plasma or LCD ? If you have a VGA or S-Video input on your TV we are in business. Or better yet HDMI is you have a more advanced screen.

Dennishopsson yes there are ways. You need to have the type of cables that Lippsman are mentioning + a graphics card that support two monitors.
However all of this is very bothersome and cause great pain to set it up. Trust me i was bugged down with it for years.
There is another solution though. A much better solution. Get a Western Digital Media Box.
These things are fairly cheap between 100-150$.
Here is the low down on them. They are small, you connect the box to your tv, attach an external disk (through usb) or an usb stick where your movies, pictures, music is located. You then use the remote control and there you have the menu on the tv's av channel.
They can play every format there is. DVD, DivX, Xvid ect ect. It can play subtitles... you name it.
I bought this box a couple of years back and i have not regretted it. It works like a charm.

Richard, thanks for understanding what it's like being 8 yrs old in Ohio with nothing but every month of Natl Geographic going back at least 10 years.....these 2 guys just don't get it....I'll bet they're both from Canada. Probably looked at old women cooks in the BBC TV Guide and shit like that as opposed to the broad cultures that I was exposing myself to......
