I know this is totally the wrong forum but I need your help. I thinnk I have the Sasser Worm
 
It turned up on my home computer yesterday and now everytime I turn it on it goes to the windiws sign but then I get a little window that says "Isass.exe - Bad Image The application of DLL C:/WINDOWS/system32/DYJUFB.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette." The only option is to click OK and whne I do the screen just stays black. I've tryed to get into it in Safe Mode, Safe Mode with Networking and Safe Mode Commnad Prompt but I get the same shit. Do you know how to get rid of it?

Oh yeah.......you got hit.  You need to do a repair on your OS.  You will need your Windows disk for the repair. Get that and what is your make and model of your computer?
 
I have a meeting to hit now, but I will be back with ya in an hour or so.

Hey man I am completely retarded when it comes to computers. I have the disk and as far as the make and model goes I have no cle. ASRock? Is that a model? lol I got it two years ago and this is the first problem I have ever had so I guess it's a 2005 or 2006 model.
 
If you could give me some suggestions on how to fix it it would be a great help. I could always take it into the shop but that would be a pain in the ass.

What disk do you have, is it an actual Windows XP disk

Ok, put the disk in the computer and reboot it.  You will need to hit a key on the keyboard so the computer boots from the CD.

You will see a blue screen and it will load the the Windows setup.  When it finishes you will see an option for repair. Hit the R key.

It will go to an old looking DOS screen. Then it will ask for the Windows installation to repair. Most of the time you will hit the number 1, then hit enter.

Now you need to type this at the prompt

chkdsk /p

This will try to repair the corruption.  Get back with me to see if this works.

Hey Lipps i did all that but after I pressed R this came up "Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed on your computer, Set upcannot continue Press F3 to quit".

ok so it worked the second time and after I pressed R I got this screen:
 
Microsoft XP (TM) Recovery Consule
 
The recovery system provides system repair and recovery functionality
 
C:/>...
 
Now what do i do??

ok forget the last two posts. I typed in the chkdsk/p and it gave me a serial number and says that the volume is in good condition and then it just listed what # of bites and stuff are on the disk....??? Now what lol?

You have to type exactly like this.
 
chkdsk /p
 
The P forces it to check.  You have to have the space in there

yeah I did all that even with the space and then /p but it says the same thing

Ok, that's odd. 
 
Try chkdsk /f
 
If that doesn't work you will have to attempt a repair install.  It doesn't always give you that choice.
 
When you get to that same blue screen, go ahead and install Windows.  It should give you a choice to do a repair install.  Choose this. 
 
If it doesn't, then I'm afraid you will have to do a complete install of window, which means you will have to install all of your programs again, but your data will be ok, such as things in My Docs and such

I did the /f one and it says the Parameter is not valid. lol
 
So when that blue screen comes up again at the start and it gives me the option to install windows (Pressing enter) or doing the recovery consule (Pressing R) I do the Enter one and install windows and then do a repair install?

Yes, go ahead and hit enter.  Windows should and I say should.  Say you already have Windows installed, do you want to do a repair install.  If it says this they pick the repair install

Hey, check that error message again.  I don't think there is a file named DYJUFB.dll

hey man, I got lost lol. My buddy tryed to explain something similar as to what you said but the thing is messed, I just said the hell with it and took it to the shop. But thanks a ron for your help and advice anyways!!! I know where to come in the future, Thanks Lipps!
