I been getting this when I shut down my comp.

IEXPLORER.EXE is not responding

also I read this post of yours... Should I do this to my computer?

Yes it is getting better. Time to direct you to another place to do an online scan.

Let's get to level 2 now.

Goto control panel

Look at the top left and see if it says classic mode. If it does click on it, if not ignore my rambling here.

Click on system.

Click on the system restore tab

Click in the box that says disable system restore.

Then it will tell you something about rotting in hell for doing this, just ignore it. Click apply then ok...

This will kill all of the little buggers that are hiding in your system restore folder

That could help, but remember this will delete all of your restore points.  You and Doc will not be able to go back in time anymore.

It&#x27;s a legit file, but there could be some malware mimicing the process.&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;Go ahead and delete your restore points, then hit this website www.malwarebytes.org   Install the program and run a full scan.  Make sure you delete everything found.  Reboot and then try to shut down again

Thanks for the info on the rebates... some of the sites I checked had Kaspersky as the better of the 2.. plus they say AVG can be quite resource intense

Kaspersky does do a bit better in the test, but not by much. We put AVG on computers at the shop and we don't see it taking up much of any resources. Norton and Mcafee are the worst ones at this

Hey Lippsman, I saw this from another thread, anyway I currently have Mcafee on my comp. Should/Can I unstall it since I downloaded that Malaware? Also my windows firewall is off is that correct?

No, your Firewall should be on unless your McAfee has one built in. &#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;Malware just scans for Malware and spyware.  So you really need an virus protection program also.&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;AVG has spyware and virus protection both

Ok I looked Mcafee has the firewall. Would you suggest still turning the other firewall on or un-install M}cafee and use AVG? How long will AVG last if I use it?

You can get AVG for free.  Just go to www.download.com and look at the most popular downloads on the right.  You will see it ranked 1st or 2nd
