What is a good antivirus program that is good and not a resource hog on the computer?
I have been using the free avg program for a longtime, but today i was doing an update and the update, updated the program. Right after that i started not being able to connect to the internet. So i unistalled avg and internet worked fine. Tried reinstalling avg again and same problem. So i removed it from my computer and download avast for the time being. I looked at some online reviews, but you dont know which one is really telling the truth.
What do you suggest Lippsman?
Thanks

Avast is very good, in fact I have that on a couple of my home computers.
But about AVG. There is no reason that is should block your internet service. We install it on customers computers in the shop all the time and it's never blocked internet activity. In fact the free version doesn't even have network security.
Head scratcher for sure.
But the free Avast is very good and also just did an update. I believe version 10 is thier latest offering.

Yes the avg thing really is a head scratcher and dont know why it was interfering with the internet. Internet explorer and firefox both wouldnt work, until i unistalled avg.
Is nods 32 a good program? Also without money being a factor, who does make the best all around anti virus program?
Thanks
