Yes, it does benefit Murray.  I can confirm the wind as I work in downtown Manhattan and it is blowing at a pretty decent rate right now

Did you watch Djokovic&#x27;s first set vs Ferrer?  He could not do shit with the wind.  I like the over with a small play on Murray.

Probably because Murray handled the wind well against Berdych while Joker fell apart and was frustrated before the first set got stopped against Ferrer. Then he just dominated the match after that.

While 20 mph winds isn't anything to scoff at it's not the same as what Joker dealt with on Saturday.

Murray did ok with the wind but it was more of Berdych not handling the wind well. After Berdych got back his composure, it was a much closer final set.

Also, regarding this first set struggle for joker, more than the weather, Joker wasnt sharp, just like federer when he played against berdych.

Im thinking at this level, who is more comfortable and less stressed out? Im guessing Joker. Wind will not play a factor in my opinion as these guys are all well prepared.

Under on the %??? No way.  Both guys will just spin their serves in... Murray hit over 70% on saturday.  Neither will go for as much.

I had to weigh in on this topic. It&#39;s good that you guys are looking into the weather and all as weather does play into matches. But what I feel you guys aren&#39;t realizing is the Ferrer&#39;s game relies so much on Volleying and just plain hitting it back. Ferrer is a GREAT volleyer and returner and can pull off shots with his speed, athleticism, and his jacked up energy that he brings to the court. He doesn&#39;t rely on his serves to win his matches as other players do, but Out Volleys his opponents. Wind definitely is more of a factor in serving than it is in volleying and returning.I think the spoiled Scottish cry baby is worthy of taking a set off the Djoker today but that&#39;s it. Murray is a step behind on the top 3 and wont win a Grand Slam unless he doesn&#39;t run into 1 or 2 of the Big 3.Just my 2 cents. Best of luck guys...im just watching this one.

Wind plays into Murray&#x27;s strengths. Murray is a defensive player...he relies on his movement and variety to win matches. Novak is a player who hits flat and wins points with winners. &#xD;&#xA;When its windy it becomes tougher to be accurate when hitting deep or going for lines. You have to be more patient and play a more defensive/clay court style game. Novak has the ability to do it...but is not used to doing it on hard courts.&#xD;&#xA;If its windy I do like Murray in this match...if its calm I think Novak wins

Straight from the weather channel, the wind in Queens at 4:00 is projected to hold steady at 17 MPH and stay that way through the hour. From 5-6 it will drop down to about 13 MPH and stay there.

You guys know a lot more about tennis than I do, but do 13-17 MPH winds really qualify as significant, because it doesn't in other sports?

It def does matter especially for people without good footwork.

I just wanted to mention, 09 Indianwells finals, murray Vs Nadal.

Pretty gusty wind condition, and nadal beat murray 6-1 6-2.

I would have to say a clay court style of player who can keep the ball in play will have an advantage.

Novak is the better clay courter. I think Novak has the edge.
