I'm watching this match right now and it is obvious that Mira Andreeva is letting her older sister beat her. If you watch any tennis, Mira Andreeva is 2x or 3x a better player than her older sister. The line suggests this as she was -570 ML at the start of the match. The match just ended 6-3, 6-1. Are you kidding me? At least make it less suspicious if you are going to fix a match.

I was being half sarcastic about the match fixing. I have no proof of course. But, if you watched the match. Mira was playing like she was playing a practice session. She wasn't hitting the ball hard or running at full speed. Very casual. Their mom was watching in the crowd. She's probably thinking Mira will always be the better player and have more success as a tennis player. Why don't you just let your older sister beat you just this one time. Let her have her glory for one night. lol. I should have known better than to even touch this match. Lesson learned.

The are other factors in play here. Clearly Mirra is the more talented player but Erika has played great this summer and is quietly having a career year herself as well. Mirra talked about how she dreaded having to play against her sister and how it would be tough for her mentally. It was obvious that Mirra was struggling mentally in the match today when things first started going awry which is not uncommon for her at all, or for any 17 year old, so it's not surprising that the older sister was the more levelheaded one.
The other big factor here is the extreme level of familiarity when you're playing someone you've trained with your whole life, which is definitely most beneficial to the underdog.
I thought the odds were spot on accurate if this were a match between unrelated players but with the other dynamics at play all the value was on Erika.
