I love Wawrinka so much, hes my favorite player. He is really incredible. As for this match, i think Wawrinka will lose in straight sets. Wawrinka usually matches up really well with Djokovic and hes troubled him in every single grand slam match they have played pretty much, the most important win was 2015 French Open where Wawrinka beat him and i will never forget 2014 Australia Open quaterfinals. That match Djokovic - Wawrinka at AUS Open is the best match i have ever seen in my entire life in the 27 years ive watched tennis. After the game was over i lowkey shed a little tear because what i had witnessed was so beautiful such high level of tennis i dont think ill ever get that feeling again. Anyways, enough about the past, in case any of you missed that match i recommend you go watch it - or at least highlights from that QF between Djoko and Wawri.
But i think Wawrinka will lose tonight, and i think he will lose 3-0, hes playing good tennis and progressively gotten better throughout the tournament but his current level of play is somewhat far from what he played like in French 2015 and Aus 2014 in both cases where he surpsringly overcame Djokovic. The most significant difference is that he doesnt play with a whole lot margin on his backhand for the time being, he cant hit lines like he could back then, hes mistiming too much compared to what he used to atm and you cant do that against a consistent guy like Djokovic. That margin makes a huge difference, because he wont be able to dictate the points in the same way as he is usually capable of against Djoko, its very close everytime they play because Wawrinka has an incredible way of neutralizing points and having a monster backhand and forehand he can throw from awkward angles. Djokovics physical shape atm is questionable hes struggled a little with his shoulders and so forth, but hes cakewalked through the tournament and i think thats gonna do him good even when facing a good opponent. Djokovics has gotten so many gifts this tournament, a guy like him shouldnt have gifts, when he gets them he doesnt throw them away, this is an opportunity he wont slide away, Wawrinka have troubled him so much for so long so i think he once and for all will get it done.
Novak Djokovic 3-0 is my prediction.

I fully agree with you and I am also not keen on watching Djoker lift another GS trophy. But i think there is a little chance to see Wawrinka coming out and playing like a beast without any fear hitting on line winners. Also nobody has been really tested Nole so far this USO so maybe Wawrinka can win it FAST.
Everybody expects a tough match and these matches could easily end fast because one of the players playing shite.
My bets:
under 3,5 sets +170
under 39,5 games -111

if Stan can make 3-4 power forehands every point, he can win.
I think the most important and only thing he can do to win is to smash the ball as hard as he can and dont let Joker to catch the 2nd or 3rd shot. thats when Stan will start making mistakes and lose.

and his serve will be another key factor. Both 2 wins against Nole in GS he had more than 70% first serve in and he should do it the same today. If he has big first serve % he will boost confidence.
